Still gotta get way out in the mountains for that. And once wildfire start and the smoke hangs everywhere...,forget it. Pretty rare to have that clear of a view even out here

@US Marine not sure what you mean about "get ugly". I did respond to a thread for cold air intake over stock air filters. I have a Volant cold air intake (enclosed box) on my 1999 4-Runner and my 2005 F250 Super Duty (diesel) - love them (dry filter cones w/ a dust mask cover). I did look into getting one for my 2020 Taco but with all the new electronic tuning you have to re-tune to get the MAS working in sync with the cold air intake or it would be just a waste of money not to mention it would eliminate your warranty. Talked to both K&N and Volant tech support to confirm what I read in the need to re-tune for MAS efficiency. I am going to wait for the warranty to expire before going that route. I have noticed a difference in both vehicles - so I am not as bent on brand as I am on the positive function of the engine breathing better.

I took a drive over to my old home town. Checked out some of the old neighborhoods from when I was a youngin. Drove down to Lake Michigan. Spent a lot of time there growing up.
    Kinda miss it.
On the way back home I passed a windmill, or at least one section of it.

All the other K&N filter discussions have had stupid comments that don't make sense at all

That takes some driving skills to move something that big . I've seen some very large heavy loads heading up the Cajon pass over the last few years

Take a stand! Go after their asses!

Had to quit early because a hydraulic line came loose on the excavator. On the way back to the asphalt I sidewalled a trailer tire. So being the considerate guy I am, I knew there was one shade tree to park next to so the tire tech would be a little more comfortable. Get to the tree, park the truck, call the tire shop then grab my lunch box. Sitting on the trailer bed I start looking over the tree that I've passed hundreds of times by now.

Never noticed the bee's nest before. I told the tech, he was good with it.

I saw that so was the cold air intake versus stock air filter - the only thing that made sense was the fact that if you do not re-tune then sure the cost of the cold air intake is moot - no efficiency gained but would anyone accept that - NOPE - as far as a lot were concerned it was only a noise maker. Go figure!!!! I didn't want to even go down the added benefit if you add a cat-back muffler system and re-tune everything at one time.

I was a Diesel mechanic over 20 yrs ago that also did road service calls . I've worked on trucks from 115° Summer temps to being soaking wet in heavy rain

Yeah, the stuff we could do when we were young. Hot ass summer construction jobs, making snow at at ski resort when it’s so cold out the snow guns freeze up. I know why I’m a grumpy old man.
