    Andy , have you seen the recent info on the massive Apple fire in the Cherry Valley near Yucaipa . Currently at 20k plus acres and at 0 containment and currently heading up into the San Gorgonio wilderness area . Friends of mine who live in Big Bear can see the fire from some locations up there

    @MTgirl

    They make heavy duty remote timers designed for wall and window AC units capable of handling 3700 watts

    Just go to a Home Depot or Lowes , they'll have what you need

    Hunting season starts in 6 weeks... Yeah I know right?! Will be 8 weeks for me though and then will spend the month of October on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Month of furlough, made to sell back PTO, increased hours and pay reduction...

    Screw it bought a new 16 ga. SxS for grouse this year. Hopefully get it back from the smith this week with a new microcell pad. In 2 weeks will switch from target shotguns to hunting guns. But I am ready. So ready...

    With Ships it is a no brainer. Out to sea. Never stay in port. Throw 60-100 bucks, usually about all I had, at the wife (Ex) and say take the boys and go as far inland as you can. And then it would hit 200+ miles away. Or was just a rain shower. If I could do it all over again know what I would do for a living. Just saying. But then when they do hit everyone else in the rest of the Country is why didn't you leave? Or pull your boat. Of course the government doesn't take chances with their ships. But I have gone dead nuts through typhoons in the Pacific. Because weather guessers pointed us there.

    You have had me thinking all evening about this. Will send you a PM tomorrow, still thinking but might be a solution out there for both of us. Just a thought that might work out for both of us. Not sure I am ready for it though but would be the smart thing to do. For me. I think.. You would have to decide if it is right for you, the family and Coco though.

    Who the hell are you?! o_O

    :cheers: Hope all is well with you and the family Kevin.

    Dang they just had a fire north of there at the 138 and Ridge Route last week.

    There is another one closer to me at Lake Castaic.

    Still not as bad as the Apple fire.

    ...'bout time to hit it. Going in earlier than usual, see if I can get some things done with this little project I'm on now. I'll need to step over to another project in a couple weeks so, if I don't get this one finished, I can at least get it cleaned up till I get the next one done. Then I can come back to this one. Thinking it's going to be added to the "annual maintenance schedule" anyway so finding a good stopping point for now is probably the best thing. I need to get all my gear in for service and get the commercial inspections done also before the next project.
