the local college JMU came back this week.our schools are doing a split scedule so they all arent there at the same time. my DIL teaches 4th grade and bless her heart has been busting her butt to have ways to help all the kids.its a sad truth that some of the kids are better off in school because of their home situations.

Ok, well went to the county test, same as all the "first responders" are taking, it's the fast test, about thirty minutes...

The test wasn't bad, they do shove that q-tip to the base of your brain stem... Fortunately I don't have a brain, I'm just a Systems Engineer, I don't need a brain..

Results - Negative.. No COVID, no brain either... We are good, SNAFU systems normal AFU..

Just got off the phone with my VA Ortho doctor , He called me 20 minutes prior to my scheduled video call . We talked about how my r/knee is doing since the knee replacement one year ago . We also talked about my recent diagnosis of MS and how it's affecting my legs especially the knee's and getting knee and ankle braces for stability

He definitely wants me in the Ortho clinic as soon as this Covid crap stops

Nope. I am in New Orleans right by Tulane University if you are familiar with the city.
This thing spun up so quick once it hit the warm gulf water. Last night it was barely a Cat 1 and now dayum, just one of the things that add to the flavor of life in this part of the world

The problem in NOLA is the fish bowl design. Y’all would have a more likely chance of flooding than we would in Houma. It’s been raining on and off all afternoon. Margret Orr on Channel 6 has her game face on. That is never a good thing. Tornado and flash flood warnings until midnight now.

Agreed, and I like my fish bowl....
Anywhere that gets hit with a Cat 4 or 5 is going to be shafted. I just watched Bernard Shaw say that it may still be a Cat 1 when it goes over Shreveport tomorrow afternoon.
That is some real shit right there...
I am just surprised about how quick the thing spooled up today...

Ok so i've hiked and camped a lot. I have never used one. Do you just pump the handle until water comes out?
    What's the rock for?
Thanks in advance in case I'm desperate for water and pump the handle once and nothing comes out.

Same here with hiking. 8 parking spots 12 vehicles jambed in the trailhead area.
Pulled into one area at 4:30 and it was full already and this was midweek.
Heard that rv sales this year are thru the roof.
I'll look in a few years when everyone realizes they are not using them much.

ok, the neighbor up in Oregon checked and there is no water around or under the house.

And by my calculations an open faucet can put out 35000 gallons in about 15 days.

Now, why is there an open faucet? Well it goes back to me putting a screw into a copper pipe. And using wonderbread to push the water down so I could solder the pipe.
Then I found a way to drain water out of the pipe and that created an air pocket below the bread. That was a year ago.. So I left the valve open to get the bread out. I would guess the bread finally dried up enough to let air through and the water finally hit the bread.
