This is a real "no shit!" temp. I had to go to town, pulled out of the driveway and it was 120. Got to the freeway and up to speed and saw that 124°. It held for about 6 miles. By the time I got to where I was going it dropped to 121. Pulled back in the driveway at home and back to 124°.

    Nope
    It got bad quick.

Leak is in the foundation. The pipe is in the concrete. Trench and replace.

    Fawk.

Not really. A little unseasonal but it's pretty much at the top of our range. We've seen 118-120 several times this year. We've been consistently 2°- 5 ° higher than forecasted all summer long. Wouldn't suprise me to see the next couple days hitting 120° or higher.

Hottest I was ever in was Tucson when it hit 117 once. My poor little Celica was overheating on the drive home and I had to turn on the heater to pull heat out of the engine. That was a fun drive home.

Craziest part of that day was all the flights from Phoenix were diverted to Tucson airport because Phoenix was even hotter that day (I think this was 1990). It was too hot for the planes to take off - something about air density. Even in Tucson, they had to wait till it was a bit cooler before they could take off with a load of passengers.

I used to live in Scottsdale AZ in the early 80's and Sky Harbor airport had to shut down flight ops due to excessive heat

Lived in Tucson for three years and worked at the airport. Arizona Air Nat Guard base on site with lots of F-16's coming and going. Occasionally there would be a stopover of WW2 aircraft going somewhere. Got to walk out on the tarmac and look at them up close. Saw a P-38 and a P-51 take off side by side on the main runway. What a sound!!

The pigeons and doves have the same problem. Get a lot of birds with the windshield that normally don't have a problem flying over vehicles on the roads. My first couple years here I thought they were suicidal.

They're a little higher elevation. I don't think they get snow but they aren't far from getting to it. Every time were east of here then drive home you can feel the gradual and steady drop.

Galvanized, really rusted out, 50 years old.

2 feet down but the meter is 6 feet above on the road behind the house.

    Can I do it?

    Yes

    Am I going to?

    No

Good answer. That's why we have plumbers. Good news is you'll probably have all new waterline from the meter to the valve at the house.

We couldn't see any of Mt Shasta because of the smoke.

Thats a 14k ft volcano and Interstate 5 goes around the base
