Glad to see you getting back to doing what you really enjoy.

 

I’ve actually been thinking about that general “problem” a bit. Because I recently responded to a thread from a 2nd gen member with tens of thousands of posts asking basic questions about 3rd gen MT. I realized after the fact that with only 400 posts I might look like a total idiot trying to advise someone with 5 years and 60k posts. Good thing we have other more “legit” members to help out too.

I think it’s be helpful if there were some kind of meter or icon to help all of us with new introductions so we can quickly gauge recipient understanding. In my son’s Jiu Jitsu class the belt system gives this kind of immediate feedback, white belts with no stripes need the most help, grey needs guidance and should be expected to know stuff, etc.

Sounds like a normal day for you.

 

Its what drew most of us to the site, looking for answers for the truck. 10 years ago there were less people and a core of knowledgeable people. Many of whom are now vendors.

Now there are too many trolls in the webs so people are ready for a fight. Personally I search for the answer, it has already been asked.

I only ask the important questions, like why my windows won't roll down.

I’ve always felt it would be significantly better to have the window lock only affect the non-driver switches and have driver switches either with a master disable or none at all.

I think that would require two independent circuits per window motor though, or electronic control via a small embedded device to feed the window motors which monitors driver window lock selection. So I understand why it’s done the way it’s done, I just think driver should be able to lock out the kids and adjust their windows all at the same time.
