Wifes Rav4 got hit yesterday. At work she parks in a banks parking lot. Older gentleman went into bank and left his wife in the car. Apparently she has dementia issues. Their car starting rolling backwards. Hit the Rav4 just behind right front tire and door. Doesn't look bad, door rubs when opening.

Oh yea, for weeks now the Humidity has been up to 100% most days... This morning it's actually really nice here!! 64 this morning when I took the dogs out light breeze out of the north and 65% humidity..

I’m home from the funeral. I’m sure I made Dad proud with the eulogy - the congregation applauded started by the Eucharistic Minister.

I’ll tell you a bit of his life story and then I’ll move on:

Dad began his carpenter apprenticeship when he was 12 in Portugal. When he was in his late teens, he moved to Venezuela with two of his brothers to work on a construction crew. He moved back to Portugal and married. Came to the US, became a citizen, and worked building houses. He couldn’t speak English very well when he first moved here. Someone stole his tools and they twice tried to injure him by pulling him off of the roof when handing up rafters and then covered the hole cut for the chimney with tar paper sending him up on the roof, which he fell through. He later had his own cabinet shop and was a master cabinetmaker. When his son decided to go to college, he closed his business and worked as a factory “ships” carpenter so that he had a pension and medical retirement benefits. He was fiercely proud, and not one would call overly nurturing, but he was Dad. I had several serious surgeries and he would stop at my house for a visit. We didn’t talk much but instead watched Gunsmoke on TV. All in all, he taught me and my two older sisters how to be strong and take care of ourselves. They say time heals all wounds.

Now that we have that out of the way, boy did it rain last night. Lots o’ wind too. I took the rest of the week off - there’s a boat calling that needs some attention.

Yes, many pieces. End tables, coffee tables, corner cabinet, china hutch are all pieces either he made, we made together, or I made with his tools that reside in my basement.

They didn’t like that he was an immigrant and was taking a job. He caught himself by putting his arms out when he fell through the tar paper. It was a two story house with a full basement and the hole went all the way down.

steak n' tater for dinner
took Toy to the grocery store for his weekly outing. Still shiny. Topped off the gas tank while we were out before the stations switch to winter blend fuel - mpg drops by 3 with that crap. I last filled him up in early August, only took a little over 10 gallons
