I was first to get to the gun club and it was a nice, peaceful morning.

He later had his own cabinet shop and was a master cabinetmaker. When his son decided to go to college, he closed his business and worked as a factory “ships” carpenter so that he had a pension and medical retirement benefits. He was fiercely proud, and not one would call overly nurturing, but he was Dad. I had several serious surgeries and he would stop at my house for a visit. We didn’t talk much but instead watched Gunsmoke on TV. All in all, he taught me and my two older sisters how to be strong and take care of ourselves. They say time heals all wounds.

Now that we have that out of the way, boy did it rain last night. Lots o’ wind too. I took the rest of the week off - there’s a boat calling that needs some attention.

Yes, many pieces. End tables, coffee tables, corner cabinet, china hutch are all pieces either he made, we made together, or I made with his tools that reside in my basement.
