Morning all!!
Having coffee before heading out to my sons house to help fell and uproot a Leland cypress tree.
Currently 66 degrees, supposed to reach 97 here today.

I was just a kid but grandad cooked on an open fire in the sugar camp.had a big pan on a stone harth. we helped collect the sugar water and bring in wood,him and dad would cook it. kind of like a bbq pit.smoke filled building the vent is on top. it added to the flavor of the syurp.took this yrs after the homeplace was sold.I still hunted it till owner built a mansion on the hill behind the camp.At one time it was beautiful when the farm was active

Tree out! Now gonna jack hammer some old concrete out.

 

Beautiful fall day here.
Tooka drive to a little town called Eden.
Stopped at the meat market for bacon.
Then took a ride to a smaller town called Armstrong for their apple orchard. Only got some fresh cider and 2 cookies.
Oatmeal, apple and carmel.
Fresh baked still warm.
OMG was it good.
Saved 1 for the wife.

 

Still considered Morning here on the West coast !!!

 

when the boys were small we went every year to an orchard in Winchester that had fresh pressed cider and food and games for the little ones. great memories

 

stopped at the grocery store when out getting a Taco state inspection. chix legs n thighs on sale. 14 legs and 5 thighs total $6.17 so grilled it on the gas grill. mo time to get the cooker out.

 

wednesday here. oh well.

 

The Santa Ana winds started blowing real bad about 2am out here. It was enough to bow the metal on the chimney cover in and out making a booming sound come out of the fireplace. The flue is closed but the sound travels.

That caused my golden retriever to start barking and pacing around the house. Every time I thought he had calmed down enough to get some sleep he would start again. Golden retrievers have one of the loudest barks of any dog.

I didn't make it to work today.
