If I had a buck for every CND ( Could Not Duplicate) on an air craft I had to chase down.... Pilots are a prissy bunch and the college degree does not make them any smarter then Laika the Dog they sent up in space. I quote one of the funniest write ups that thankfully was not mine to work so I could step out of the debrief before I lost it laughing. " Inter Cockpit Comms Panel Will Not Work In OFF Position" ........... Yeah that really happened the pilot was a German we were training to fly F4s . I guess in his defense he could not see there were no periods between the letters like all the other 3 letter designators on that panel..

I had something similar but in my Armory @ MCAS El Toro back in 1982 . I heard a knock on my Armory door and when I opened it there was a Butter bar Lieutenant WM checking into our squadron . So she's being issued a M1911A1 .45 CAL Pistol. I hand it to her thru the armory window slot with it cleared and slide locked open

I then ask her to inspect her new issued sidearm and she tells me how to release the slide . I walk out of my armory and walk with her to a cleaning table to show her how to properly use her firearm

I've taken so many M1911A1's apart I could break it down using one hand easily . So I proceed to show her and she looked confused and asked for me to break it down again . I do this same procedure over and over showing the Lieutenant and she then tells me in a firm authoritative voice

She said to me if I do this one more time I'm going to be written up for being disrespectful to an officer . I then spend the next 1/2hr taking my time and teaching the basic and simple steps how to handle a firearm

All this time I'm thinking to myself how a commissioned officer can't grasp the simple process of handling a firearm

Bet she could tell you how to take a pen apart and out it back together :} LOL Ever watch a Butter Bar try to fight with an E-7 .... Yeah didn't work for her . It was funny and I was there at the beginning part but found urgent business at the other end of the shop when it started to get ugly lol. Canopy off one of her birds was in the shop for eval of a crack, I mic'd it book said it was bad . I got the E-7 he verified my check and called the owning unit told them order a new canopy and come pick this one up for turn in. We go on our merry way .... 2o min later in comes this Female Butter bar walks right up to the bench with the canopy on it and the E-7 standing next to it filling out the NRTS tag ( not repairable this station) he does not have his blouse on by the way just his T-Shirt. She wants to know why it is not being repaired that bird was on the mission board and this canopy needed to be repaired and reinstalled by 1500hrs... The E-7 started to explain she kept cutting him off till he finally told her one moment mam. Walks into his office comes back out with his blouse on MSgt stripes and 9 Level badge and all ( 9 level was the highest skill level you could have in an AFSC ) . She calmed a little but proceeded to order him to repair the canopy , he stated no Mam the Tech order states the depth of this crack is beyond repair locally. She still insists we or rather he can do something to get it temp fixed for the bird to fly.. ( Only way would to have been authorized from higher HQ to use battle damage repair methods or one time emergency flight approval) He stood his ground she gets angry again and demands to see his branch Chief out here now .. This is when I faded out to the other side of the shop ( hey I only had 2 stripes and wanted to keep them) lol. Yeah she lost and got spanked for trying to order deviation from Technical Data .. She was not around long after that .. Arguing with a guy who has 22 years in and his knowledge of structures has been rated the highest skill level there is ( not many ever got that 9 level in their career field). When your 27 years old and the guy your arguing with has been assigned to the F4 for the last 10 years yeah not a winning combination lol

    Yep ,
Hell got see several step on their own .. equipment while in . Watched from a distance when a Capt and his entire family were kissing pavement because he figured his name is on the plane so he could let his family members climb the ladder and .. take pictures of the cockpit . SP's saw the flash and it went down hill from there lol Truth be told all he had to do was get clearance for the family to be out there with him, and even take a few pictures as long as it was not with a bldg. as a back drop. Though , they would not have allowed the cockpit pictures even though the airframe had been in service for 20 plus years and sold to other countries etc. They still had some stuff that was not general knowledge supposedly. :]

    THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!

My daughter promised to to help me do things to her new/old RAV4 this weekend:
    1. Change fluids: Oil, Tranny, Rear Diff, Transfer
We'll install a Fumoto valve for future easier oil changes.
    2. Add Wiper fluid
    3. Lube any zerks
    4. Air, Oil, Cabin Air filters
    5. Wipers

We'll see how long my girl lasts out in the garage. LOL.

^^Same with My daughter she has been out in the garage a lot. I give her fuel credits when she changes the oil and other things. she now dose not mind it to bad. had to change the bellows for the steering. I got a quote and showed it to her. I told her I would split the cost of it with her. she said she didn't have the money for even half. I said I know a less expensive way. we do it. so she went and got the part rented to tie rod tool and we both did it. and yes I ended up paying for it all.
