I'm home listening to the farmilliar sound of the generator humming away in the back yard. No power until tomorrow evening.

No heater, no internet. Pretty much everything else is working.

I'm getting closer to convincing Rema that we need to upgrade to a whole house generator.

Back to "Missouri geography" class with all of you! The "H" town on the Mississippi is Hannibal Mo. Think - Mark Twain, Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn and Samuel Clemens; remember now?
EDIT: lots of other nice towns on the Ms. river as it is the entire eastern border of Missouri The oldest town in the state is there as well - St. Genevieve. Down toward the bootheel the Ms. river actually does a "U-turn" and flows from the south to north for awhile thanks to the 1811 New Madrid Earthquake

Hey Dewayne! Hope all is well with you and yours also!

Yeah been busy. Work. Taking care of snow. Puppy. Rinse and repeat. Sometimes like today both snow and puppy together he shredded another toy and is right proud of himself.

    jack deck snow.jpg

After work cleared the driveway and just got back from puppy classes. He does keep me moving...

Interesting observation Zim, that is my place at the table. I am the only one there that ate in the Chef's Mess instead of the Wardroom. It may just show at times :anonymous: But in SD we are all equals and it is a great time.

So sorry to hear rocketman  Thoughts and prayers sent.

At work we get division bereavement notices by email, every day now and for several months. Sometimes for parents, sometimes for employees. Wish they would stop. I'm older than some of them and yes 64 is too young.

His father tolerates him, a little. Unless toys are involved then all hell breaks loose. Kind of looking forward to him growing out of the puppy stage and not being a little asshole to his dad. On the other hand don't want it to go too fast either, they get old way too soon as it is, as you know only too well.

I've taken pups to classes for quite a few years now so am usually ahead of the power curve. Normally pick up a few new things although this time not so much. But that first 20 minutes when they socialize and learn how to play with other dogs is priceless. And can't be done at home.

I've learned this little guy has no fear (or self preservation) and takes on the largest dogs and doesn't like to go into submission. Ugh. I really don't want another intact male dominant dog. They do make great hunting dogs but the rest of the year not so much. His testicels haven't dropped yet and if they don't in the next year or so nature will fix that. Either way I will be happy and live with it, not much I can do about it. Damn I must be getting old or something..

Hope all is well with you and the family Dan! Looking forward to a trip across the River to The Pie shop when it warms up. And ice cream.

I never made it to either place. I was a "DM" and we only made one chief every couple of years. It's always a great thing to see some fella's having a meal together tho. Most of my shipmates have passed on except for one who runs a hot rod shop in Georgia. Enjoy every minute, and thanks for the pics.

up late as always. The good news is our internet is still up and running. I am guessing Spectrum cut a deal with AT&T to share the generator since I only saw one there at the bottom of the hill on my way home.

I have spent the last hours looking into whole house generators and narrowed it down to a 20KW Cummins with a 200A switch panel. That is around $5k not including install of the gas lines or electrical install. It seems to be the quietest in the category but has a 2 to 3 month back order. I think it will be worth it in the long run. I can run what I have until then.

It is getting cold in the house. 55* (shut up Wessa) cold for us sunny state people. We usually keep it at 72*.

Just a dusting here. The broom took care of it. I put some ice melt down to be safe, as I am due a delivery today from the dreaded Fed Ex and I don't want anybody to slip and fall.

A little of this and a little of that.
    Good morning everyone.:hattip:

Great pictures Chief, good looking dog. The Admiral picked a nice area for pheasant and waterfowl hunting. Back in the early 90’s, I worked with a guy from Oakes, ND. His family farmed 10 sections of small grains and we would hunt pheasants and also go down along the James river and hunt ducks. Those were great trips.

Dammit. Sorry to hear about the death of your friend. Good thoughts on the way.

I’ve seen it firsthand...:anonymous: and read the books too.

Enjoy the day, stay safe. :oldglory::oldglory::oldglory:
