I've not had any real back pain.

But dammit, when my right knee acts up, it feels like it's gonna explode.

And gout on my big toe. When it happens, It gets so bad that I sometimes have to crawl to get where I need to go inside the house.

Thankfully I don't have much.... Bent over a file cabinet drawer last Nov and OWIE!!!! did something and it hurt a lot. Thankfully it (pain) didn't hang around too long that time. Then @ Christmas I had to lift the moose aka Zoie into the back of the truck a dozen times - was down for the count the next week. I'm extra careful now about lifting things.

Oh man, there is nothing worse than bad discs and grinding nerves. For a while there, I thought I would end up with a walker or crutches. Couldn't trust my back when walking, too many times my leg would fail and I would go down. Could happen anytime, usually happened if I was carrying anything heavier than a six pack. So I got depressed and started carrying six packs a lot.

My back pain is the usual result of too many stupid things as a young man. Never wore a weight belt, lifted stupid heavy things by myself (like landscape grade railroad ties). Eventually discs get misaligned and start to degrade and chew up the nerves.

I'm never going to be 100% but two things have really helped. One is yoga specific for people with back pain. I found this video a long time ago and it really helps release the sciatic pain https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06WYKCfdAn4 . There are other videos, but this seem to work the best.
The other is my teeter inversion table. http://teeter.com/ I purchased it out of desperation one day and found it really works. When my sciatic starts acting up, I gently stretch while inverted and my back will pop. Scared the crap out of me at first, but now I see it as a sign that I have released the pain. I used to do it all the time, not just once every few weeks gives me pain free days and nights. I know everyone is different and sometimes surgery is the only route, but it never hurts to try. Hope these things help. Don't give up.

    Small useful for me stuff.
Reading through this thread has reminded me time again as how youth is wasted on the young. I see the younger set out doing really stupid shit like the jackass bunch and think, damn your an idiot. What are they going to do when/if they make it to our age. Like many here I've got my issues and that's why I have to get up 2.5 hrs before going to work. Stretching and trying to work through the crap. Wife doesn't get it. I've never gone under the knife cuz I'm a big pussy about it and doctors just plain freak me out.

Done with my rant blathering. Hope you all feel as good as possible and get the most out of the day, even if it's just watching some football.

    Mmmmmmmmmm.
First the vent is a pita even to see it in the car.
Your not going to be off roading so I don't see the need to relocate.
Your only option is to cut the top off the old breather and look at it or play with a new one.I have not done that so I'm not sure what's under the cap.
Can it be done? Hell yea. The good thing is it won't flex when it's in. Your only issue is the diff side and just use the relocation parts for the Tacoma. Before you start buy 2 diff breathers and practice on one.

    But we keep chugging along,right?

Was just on my roof (ranchHouse) with a backpack blower cleaning the leaves out of the gutters and downspouts.
Who else is going to do it besides me, myself ,and I.

Worked again. That makes 30 OT hours in the last 4 days...it'll be like this till April. 200 + hours in a month is very common and almost normal.

My office is basically my truck. Depending on where I have to go there's always a minimum of 45 minutes travel each way. But it can be almost 2 hours each way. Once there it's jump on a piece of equipment or go fix something that's broken (pipes, wires, fixtures, lights). You learn to take advantage of taking extra stuff with you to help setup for the next job...saves time and extra effort. But there are times like this weekend where the broken item is pretty much a necessity and has to be done in a somewhat timely manner, but since I knew I was going that way I hauled gear and equipment for next week. It really makes you think about what's happening 2 or 3 jobs away and not making extra steps unless you really have no other choice.

    Same as everybody else...
So yesterday I swapped out the Power Steering fluid in my truck. I Wasn't having an issue with the PS I just like to keep up on preventive maintenace, especially when it's inexpensive and DIY. I was talking to my buddy and he mentioned Magnafine filters that he uses on his truck for the AT fluid and PS. I'm not familiar with this product so I thought I'd ask those of us that are better informed. Are these filters worth using? I'm curious if there's a real benefit to using the filter or not.
