I am amazed at these examples. Truly great engineering and built to last.

Many car builders design their vehicles to self destruct at a given mile, thinking the consumer will buy another junk. What they got wrong is that the consumer is not dumb, and works very hard for a living........so he/she will not buy the same junk again and instead buy Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mazda.etc.

Here is an idea for you gents worth trying with no downside and possible upside.

Write to Toyota Headquarters in Japan and cc the US as well. Send them nice pictures (as above), verifiable mileage and see if they are interested in:

    1) Using your car for advertising ( and pay you for it).
    2) Sell you a 2017 at steep discount (if you are interested in buying one, or have a relative or friend who is).
    3) Any other idea that may pop in your head that is reasonable.

After all, these examples are the REAL DEAL, minus the advertising BS etc. and it has value.

And keep us posted with any news.

    Best

    Alex

Last year I tried. Obviously screwed up the address; it was returned.

    In any event:

This is awesome, makes me jealous I can't supercharge my 96 without it being a PITA.

The 3.4 was only offered in the 95-97 single cabs as the SX package I believe so they are kinda rare.

Give it another shot and go to the top of the food chain............ Mr. Akio Toyoda. Invite him for a ride when he is in US. You never know if he or a rep will show up.

That is what I do (most of the time) and get replies. Scroll down and his address is there.

PS: I wrote to Amazon re an idea and someone from Jeff Bezos office contacted me. So you never know unless you dig deep.

I put in Lucas Oil sealer and has been working for me for now. Oil leak is just a few drops
now. Is a temporary fix but is working.

Congrats to you buddy! I got one for yah, I have just over 495,000 on a 2002 Toyota tacoma pre runner that has had a 3in lift for most of its life. Original engine and still runs great!! I just developed a small valve cover gasket leak but that is all! This will be my last oil change under 500,000!

still running my original 5 speed:dancingbacon:
I bought a backup transmission that has 60,000 miles on it 7 years ago
thinking I would have to replace my original one, haha, so the backup transmission is still collecting dust in the garage, waiting.

I wish it was the original tranny! I lost it driving through Columbus, OH. It had 60,000 miles when it went out and everyone was shocked at that dealership. They shipped the wrong tranny to the dealer so it took a few extra days. They gave me 1,000 dollars off b/c of the inconvenience. The one I have now has almost 450,000 on it so I can't complain.

Damn, you've had one helluva run with this taco. You've owned since new, correct? I love your story with this Tacoma. I love that you haven't sold it or traded it in on something. Very, very cool. Here's to another 20 years and 500k+ miles.

    Wow-some stories here...And I am impressed-for real!
My '02 Tacoma Xtend cab has ONLY 200,000 on it-and most all were highway miles..only updated the air intake to K/N and Cat-back exhaust. Do my own regular maintanance w/ Amsoil/NAPA gold .filters. Mine still runs good--but little things are creeping up now--costing me $$ and more $. Just had some back surgery--so I can't do any serious wrenching right now.

Still see a ton of these trucks on the road here--and none in any local junk yards (I checked yesterday)

    You'll keep 'em rolling!

I could have just fixed the heads, but wanted a newer motor with less miles and was cheaper than fixing the heads, ALL 3.4 v6 sooner or later get a blowen head gasket,

That is a really sweet truck. I wish my single cab had the v6!

Where did you buy the nerf and push bars? Looking for something similar on my truck.

Your headlights look inset, did you buy a kit to totally replace the originals? I feel like this is one part of my truck that makes it look really old. Even with a sanding, the headlight housings are still foggy.
