All you guys pushing for a Super Charger, how many of you actually have it to back up that the OP needs it?

The S/C gives you more power sure... But how useful is that power? What does it provide the OP for that 5-6K expense? Dealer install is 800-1400 depending on who you talk to. Assuming the OP wants to keep his new truck under warranty the Dealer will have to install it.

Not to mention you now have to run Premium fuel over regular and fuel mileage gets even worse on the Tacoma. I don't see an advantage to a S/C unless you drive like a speed demon everywhere or towing.

All that said, I want a S/C for towing purposes. I will be getting a camper trailer and I want the pulling power in the mountains. But this is the ONLY reason I can see in getting a S/C.

OP never really stated what his goals were with the build... He just said that he doesn't offroad much and wants to spend $5000. How often do most of us actually utilize the suspension mods on a regular basis? Few. Who's to say that he won't get more use out of the S/C? I will tell you that I give my supercharger a workout much more often than I do my suspension. It's all about how you use the truck.

Just because TW is offroad truck biased doesn't necessarily mean it's the only way.'s Advocate

Its impossible to not use the super charger every time you drive the truck. Of course your going to use it more than suspension mods.:p:p. ;)

Do you not also use the suspension every time you drive it?

I love my SC. The SC puts the power where it should be at.

That's like saying, "don't go buy a bumper unless you plan to ram something with it."
You use suspension daily just as you use a supercharger daily.

His truck , his 5k. If he wants to spend 5k on glitter and glue it to his truck so be it. He just wanted opinions. How he spends it is up to him.

The OP never stated his true intentions behind what he uses the truck for, but the advantage to the S/C.... Better towing power (NOT additional payload) Gas mileage should roughly remain the same if he does not drive it like he stole it once he gets it put on, if he does. If he intends on building a vehicle which is heavily armored the charger will handle the additional weight gains with ease and keep the truck from over-working, which is a common problem I see on people's trucks who are trail ready with skid's up the ying yang but can't move the truck for shit. Lol.

    Well, this escalated quickly. :D

Lol i dont want to start a fight just want your opinion!!! And what you do on your truck for 5K$ i realy thinking of a good suspension and lift upgrade and tire and wheel and some armor and i dont think to supercharged it because here in canada the premium is 1,54$ the liter i dont the price in gallon but i think 4 liter in 1gallon so almost 6$ the gallon :'(
