It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Round trip to Pittsburgh today (420 miles total). First real road trip in the Sport, and while doing realized I was near 5000 miles, and thought I'd report in..

I must say, overall it is an enjoyable ride. The stock Sport supension is a tad stiff when on rough roads at speed. Very nice on smooth roads though.

Most of the trip was at somewhere just north of 74 MPH, and in ECT PWR mode. Averaged 20.2 on the way up, and 21.4 MPG on the way back. (Drive to Da Burgh is generally a climb, and back there is more coasting, as it is generally downhill)

I know that these third gens are getting some bashing, but I am LOVING mine.

Power response is very nice, kinda gives you a nice kick in pants when you ask for power, and that stiff Sport suspension, feels especially confident when "pushing it" through some curves.

Overall I give MY 3rd gen an A+ as a highway truck. Planning my first trail run, and then we'll see if I am keeping the stock suspension. That might be rough enough to convince me to get her some Billsteins.

Good to hear from a satisfied owner. I'm just about to hit 5000 and have been very pleased with the truck. The TSBs for shifting and lower control arm howling have both made improvements. I've averaged 23 mpg so far in my 4x4 access cab automatic.

Mine is 4x4 AC Auto as well... I have the tranny TSB, but not the LCA, which I will ask about when I take it in for the 5K. I have only heard it once, and that was in a strong crosswind on a high bridge between two mountain tops, so not too worried about it.

Thanks for the write up. It's nice to hear from a satisfied owner. I'm close to 5k myself.

Well, you haven't gotten rid of it yet... So it can't be all that bad.

I am glad you are enjoying your truck! I am too even though I have sympathy for the guys who aren't.

The suspension is one reason I chose the off-road trim. It really does a good job of smoothing out rough roads (which seem to be almost everywhere these days). I have taken some curves fairly fast and feel it does a fine job with cornering too without too much body roll.

I'd change out the rear diff fluid now and be all set. Great write-up!
