68A0C64F-2F05-45F0-A83D-0FAE34B81A35.jpgToday, I went to the dealership for the 5000 miles service (actually 5911 miles). I asked them to check the transmission fluid level. The service advisor asked me why. I told him it struggles on an incline and it hasn’t been shifting smoothly after 2k RPM (something like that). He said it is normal because it’s a 7 gear transmission (???) and it is hunting gears. He told me they weren’t going to check it. I looked at him and said,”You are not going to check it? The Toyota Care states all fluid check including the transmission.” After an hour, the service was done. I highlighted part of the work order about the transmission. Hmmmmm...Was it actually checked????

    I doubt it.

Next time atleast get some grime on the check plug before taking it in.... torque seal may also help, if it isnt cracked or missing they prolly didnt touch it.

This is all after the fact and wont help you for a few thousand miles until the next service i guess.

Have you taken it in specifically stating it doesnt shift as smooth as it used to?
Thus having it documented in the system? (Retain your copy of work order).

I see u requested having it checked and thats documented, but no indicator of your complaint.

The part i didnt like on our camry was that they would do either the oil change or tire rotation on the 1st service... i requested oil (in that case) since it had been only 6k miles but 12 months.

Oddly, the brakes were checked as was yours.... so they removed the wheels (so they claim). How is it they couldnt rotate the tires? Whats the worst case scenario, the wheels moving up front would have to be balanced?

Factory Blackout package, Soft roll up bed cover, Cheap seat covers, Front and rear dash cam, AVS in channel vent visors
7 gear transmission and it was all done within an hour. I would find a different dealer.

100% not if you drove the truck to the dealership. Trans needs to be within a specific temp range for checking level and it takes 3+ hours to cool down from normal operating temp.
