Stock truck is no excuse. I took my stock truck to liberty when everybody said to have armor, 32" AT or MT tires, and armor. Only spot I couldn't make it through was a steep hill climb on loose dry dirt with rocks in it. Nobody could climb that hill though with winching. Also Tahuya is supposed to be stock friendly and a lot of people get bored with it because it doesn't have as much challenge.
Now for the distance of getting there, I understand that. For a 9 am meeting time near there, Google maps told me it will take something like 2 hours to get there.

There are a bunch of pine trees at the place we are about to get. We even have a wood stove and fireplaceto make use of them. I might be making another trip over to Spokane just to bring firewood with us. I will probably fully load my truck and trailer, which should work out to about 1.25 cords or so, all split and aged a year.

Always good to help take care of Grandma. She usually has cookies to pay you back with.

    Went wheeling here last night
A LEO crept up and spot-lighted me
He didn't put his top light bar on, though; so, all I saw was headlights and a spot...
LEO's aren't the only people out there with spot; it's was 1am, dark, and out of public view, could very well have been someone trying to jack me
Was a little bit on edge for a minute there

Apparently it's private property: Stimson Lumber
He didn't give me a ticket; but, said that "now you know (it's private property)"
Said that they are starting to enforce it now, cause lot's of "kids are smoking dope" and so on, out there

Sucks... this was a very close and fun place to wheel
And if something ever went wrong, it's right off a main street, not far from town; a quick walk or wait and it wouldn't be long before you got help
I had always just assumed it was City Property
Makes sense, though: there's piles of lumber near the river

I think the first few places I need to check out for wheeling will be Mount Spokane, unless somebody here can tell me it's not worth it, and a little spot near Nine Mile Falls. For any CDA people, i would say about an hour and a half drive each way.

Moving day for me to become an east sider is Feb 18.

The thing (i'm assuming) about Mt. Spokane and really any other places up in the National Forest Mountains is that they are pretty much inpassible from November to about May

That's another reason why wheeling in the place I just mentioned was so great: can trudge through there all winter long

Mt Spokane isn't completely I'm passable if the snow is hard enough I was thinking of going up there on Saturday to check it out but none of my buddies wanted to go help me dig out if I got stuck

Who has duratracs or KM2s for tires on their truck over there? I can make my way through about a foot deep of snow on my well abuse factory Dunlop at20 as long as I'm in 4wd. Once I'm over there, and I get tax return money, I am looking into getting some hankook dynapro atm rf10.

Hit the snow and drop pressure down to about 5-10 psi. Just make sure to have a small bottle of lighter fluid and a lighter along for the ride. In the event of a losing a bead from that low of pressure, spray a little fluid into the tire with a trail leading to a couple feet away. Light the trail and the quick combustion inside the tire causes it to quickly reset the bead. Add basic 12v compressor to take tire to desired pressure and continue on your merry way.

Let me know when u need those tires my brother inlaw sells danapros and will most likely beat any other shop in town on price. I also went up to Mt Spokane today and played in the snow only got stuck once till I locked the rear end then no problem till I got to where a snow groomer pushed up a 6foot tall berm of snow across the whole path so I couldn't get thru to the the rest of the trail.image_zps3289b314_f672b2ec6fe91f439da0c705bd82004c0aced339.jpgimage_zpsdc7bab03_00d68e3273af7f80a0ee2ca50a5f71eb2096fe43.jpgimage_zps7b0a9770_9309975c5d23230eb9d3177a8fda959167930412.jpgimage_zpsccfe89bf_44d56a5522520db641caa8bfe6ab263657d25375.jpg

that looks like fun. i will probably look more into tires around summer time. the tires i have on now still work just fine for street use, and have plenty of tread left to be legal. they just don't have the grip i am looking for when it comes to off roading and snow.

I was going to buy some paint the other day till I saw the line all the way arround the store and sait the heck with it. If any one needs work done on ther trucks or tires go see Travis or Matt at Spokane brake and auto tell them Josh sent you and they will take great care of you. Thanks for the comments on the pics I'm quite happy with this truck. The true test will be to see if it will pull my boat or not what's the most any of you have pulled with your taco

10 ft fiberglass boat with 8 hp outboard, 4000 lb horse trailer (that is with horse and his tack inside), utility trailer if logs before being cut into rounds and split, over loaded utility trailer of split firewood (at least 3500lbs) with the bed loaded as well. That last one flattened my leaf springs and happened last week. 35 mph hill climb heading east over snoqualamie pass.

That is all with 4 cylinder 5 speed, after market tow equipment. 4 cylinder from factory is rated out to pull about 3500 lbs and v6 is good for I think 6500, each with 10% tongue weight.

I'm not completely sure on this, but I don't think that the factory tow package has a brake controller. I think I read that it has pigtails that are ready to splice to one though.
