Well just an FYI from an old guy to a young one..

    Something called

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrying_cost

What that means is you can't only use an hourly rate to calculate your build cost.. there's rent, power, payroll, insurance, inventory.. just to start.. its way more expensive to run a business than at first glance, hence why a one off build would seem so inflated to garage mechanics..just some thoughts.

Also as mentioned in the thread the salesman made they marked it up knowing that it will sit a while. They are going to use it to draw people in to the dealership for a while, if someone walks up willing to pay 50k I'm sure they will gladly take it. After a few months I'm sure the price will come down. It's a super nice truck and it would suprise me if it hasn't already had an offer or two made on it. As my ol' uncle says.... "There's an ass for every seat".

I'm familiar with the term/concept. But that's usually figured into a shops set labor rate. Hence the $100 an hour, about the current average for a mechanic to do work on your vehicle that's not straight to them it's what they charge. Like a lawyer, etc. it's billable hours to include all the costs factored in.

And Wikipedia isn't a good source to be referencing, tip from a young kid ;)

For the mods, labor, warranty.... ETC, probably not a bad price when compared to the junk moded dealer trucks out there.

I'd pimp this truck all day.

I wouldn't pay for it though, like others, I'd mod myself.
