I use it mainly to prevent speeding tickets. Heck, I use it going through small towns with 25mph limits for the same reason.

There’s an aftermarket upgrade for all time ECT mode. I forgot who manufactures it.

If you use it at that speed then expect anomalies.

The stumble you’re feeling is common... and annoying. It’s definitely a programming issue. I havn’t felt it since I OVtune’d. It’s an expensive fix, but worth it IMHO.

I regularly use mine at 35 MPH for this, without problems.

Yeah, i never drive with the cruise set at 50 or so when driving the windy back roads here...just doesn't make sense to. Never noticed an issue with the truck bucking when running around 1200 rpm shortly after i switched to premium fuel, and its still not getting better losing exactly 1 mpg to after 2 fillips now. Decided on the next tank, back to the E87 sold here. Truck runs stronger on the lower grade fuel.

I beg to differ. I use cruise control pretty religiously, especially with these drive-by-wire style systems. I've even set it as low as 25-30 in town when needed. This didn't start with my Tacoma either.

Some say common. Personally, I've not heard this issue before and mine definitely doesn't seem to have that issue.

25-30 is what I get. Minimum speed is whatever speed it will no longer allow me to set. I also don't have the radar or TSS so, my understanding is that I've also got the ability to go lower than those people.

My 2020 at 60mph will downshift every time on a even a slight hill at 60mph while in Cruise Control.

From my experience, the gearing is too high for the truck, and rehearing is on my bucket list to fix this issue.

I have such a great time reading some of these 3rd gen items. You guys do some stupid shit , cruise control to go 25mph. Apparently no brain to muscle connection. Funny stuff,:D. Toyota should have just left the 5 speed in the 3rd gen honestly the 6 speed has no advantage.

Toyota does not recommend running the higher ethanol fuel with the Tacoma. It is much more corrosive than the standard regular 87 octane, and can cause engine damage with engines not specifically designed to run it (i.e. EFlex). I run no ethanol 90 octane, the truck runs much smoother, makes a noticeable difference in performance, and gives me 1-1 1/2 mpg more in mileage.

My point is the gear ratios are not designed to maintain an rpm at those low speeds. That's all.

If you get the MESO Pro knob, you can rub it with your thumb and turn it on.

It's very nice when you frequently find yourself wanting to do 32 in a 20, or more. I usually go about 5 over regardless, but it's one less variable.

Curious why OP left a MT for AT? MT solves this problem by leaving the truck in 5th gear at those speeds.
