Within the last 5k miles I have started to notice a vibration at 50+mph but goes away under 45ish mph and it is only intermittent. Sometimes I feel it and sometimes I don't. It gets REALLY harsh when I brake from 50mph+ and again doesn't do it always when I am braking. I am wondering what this could be because it is not always vibrating. I am feeling it more in the rear and in the steering wheel. I had a problem with my e-brake sticking and I drove on it once or twice not fully knowing that it had stuck after releasing the brake so maybe that has a affect? I have read almost all the vibration threads but haven't found one that had it only happening intermittently. thanks for the help!

Warped brakes will often be 'intermittent' but only because you dont always brake the same. But usually if i get a shake that only shows up at 1 speed and then goes away at a higher speed its usually a tire out of ballance. And if both tires are out they will sometimes be out of sync and be 'fixed' when they align in a certain way, then be shaking again once they fall out of sync.

With the wheels being out of balance, how would that explain the vibration getting much more severe when braking?

Try checking the carrier bearing, mine did the same thing and I discovered the rubber in the bearing was cracked and was total junk, after replacing it it was fine.

New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
other things to check, rotors and all steering components, ie, inner and outer tie rods, ball joints, A-arm bushings. rotors as mentioned already...alignment....

rotors are a constant when braking, the other components can be intermittent depending on the severity of the wear....

I had the same problem with my 2000, once I replaced all of the above, and a sillyconed center support bearing, all is good....

I replaced the front rotors, rear shoes, drums and brake springs, greased the drive shaft at each zirk, and now replaced the carrier bearing today and now.... Just a little vibration and a very subtle drone at 70+mph. Thanks for the help guys and I will keep trying to get no vibe

Well I noticed my vibration is back again so I am back to the drawing board. It vibes pretty good from 50-75mph and gets very harsh pulsing and shaking when I brake. I also had my tires balanced yesterday and he said one was pretty bad.
