Ok so first thing I want to say is I used the search and I have come up with a dizzying amount of stuff and a lot of it is conflicting

With that said I have a 14' TRD Sport DCSB, and the stock Dunlops are just about at the end of their life at 36k. So when I get tires (general grabber at2 is what my plan is) and initially looked at spacers...and then that went out the window.

Without being long winded my plan is 5100's @1.75" in the front with stock springs and an AAL and I want to know if 265/75/17 is the biggest I can go without spacers on the stock sport wheels? Or can I fit 285/75/17 without chopping a ton out or getting springs.

Oh and I don't really do any off roading....just dirt roads and smooth trails, 1 level up from mall crawler

    265 70 17 is max without trimming. Don't think 265 75 17's are made by any mfr I've seen.

I know that the grabber does come in a 275/70/16.....that means I would have to buy wheels which I was kind of steering away from.....that could easily change, especially since coming across munkeeboi's build thread

Regardless of what people say about how easy it is to do, cheap it is, or nice it rides, pre-load is never the best method of lifting.

Select the correct spring for your goal, then the proper damper to go with it.

Many around here find Marie at Headstrong offroad to be quite helpful in part selection.

Yes there are 275's in that size, but E rated. The problem will be clearance with your UCA. I can barely get a finger between my 265 and stock uca at rest. Would be even tighter with that size.

255/75r17 seems to be a good option, often available in c load. That's almost enough to make me move to 17s... almost.

I run 265/70/17 no rubbing with no lift on my trd sport. Didn't even have to remove the flaps, although I plan to eventually. And I've been on some rocks and plenty of dirt with it.

And can I do an AAL with the stock rear shocks or do I need 5100s all around?

Your changing your ride height, so you need taller shocks

This will be my exact setup once I get tires. You can probably fit larger tires if you stay on smooth roads but if you don't want to deal with the unknown 265/70/17 should be the perfect fit

Longer U Bolts for the leaf springs.

Pick some up from wherever you're ordering your lift from. You will definitely need them. Another optional is the bushings and top hats for the front struts. You may not need them unless you see that they are worn.

If you're going to do shocks, coils and an AAL then I recommend getting a complete kit from a place like Headstrong Offroad cause it'll come with all the necessary bolts and things that you need for installation.

I got my complete kit (5100s, OME 881s and 3 leaf AALs) through them and it was real easy and a good deal.

Here's 5100s, 885s, and a 2" AAL with 265/70r17 general grabber at2s. Its about 2.5" of lift, and I don't think the tires look too small.

You don't need longer U bolts. That's for block lifts. I have a 2" AAL and have plenty of thread on the stock U bolts.
