Hi everyone, I'm new here and am wondering if anyone could give me advice. I currently have billstein 5100 set at 2nd notch to level my truck. I did this before I started to add a shell and camping gear, build out the shell with drawers, and have tools in the back (hence more weight), in addition I have a cargo carrier with solar panels installed on top (more weight). It doesn't sag that much but a little so I've decided that I want to put my shocks back down to stock height (down a notch). I am not interested in aftermarket springs/air bags. I've done my research and heard from others and understand it is what works for them, but I want to go back to stock height.

Any advice on the uninstall and compressing springs in a safe way or should I just take it to a shop and ask them to compress the springs and slide the notch down back to stock? I want to do it myself but am kind of nervous (heard lots of horror stories). Also, I'm running Falken AT Wild Peak 2. size 265 75 16 (I went up a size from stock which was 245 75 16). Just a bit wider tires now. wondering if anyone has experience wit tires this size possibly rubbing on stock suspension height on this model.

This is for my 2008 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner.

    Thanks.

Unless you are able to rent the proper tool to compress the springs, it's not worth it.

If you are able to rent the tool..... be very careful. A lot can go wrong if anything slips. Make sure your life insurance is paid up.

I've always used this method and not had issues. Just be safe and take proper precautions.
