Anyone just install the bilstein 5100? Got a 15 Tacoma, 2wd pre runner, bilstein 5100 shocks will be here next week, curious if I should throw them on the highest adjustable setting? Or where to stay at? To keep the truck from having any alignment issues with the front be higher than stock. I know the bilsteins are 0-2.5? Lift I believe my pre runner is factory height pretty high at the rear so wanting to level it. Will I need to replace LCA or UCA ? Or any other joints? Brake lines? Etc thank you!

Had them done on my 15 almost a year ago, wish I had done them years ago. Only thing I needed with the install was an alignment.
I believe they did it at 1.75 or 2 inches. From what I've been told, it isn't recommended that you go all the way up on them.

glad to hear that! What’s the ride quality like on the adjustment you’re at? Is it harsh? I’ll be maybe putting them on the first from stock adjustment or the middle just to level the truck out then getting new tires and an alignment.

Measure the ride height from ground to the center of the fender on each wheel and we can help you.

Tacomas tend to sag on the left front and the 5100's can help square the truck up.

Let us know the measurements and we can help you out.

A: You will always need an alignment with any front shock replacement
B: 5100's even at max don't require any special control arms or brake line extension.

Way better than the stock TRD OR suspension on these shitty SoCal streets . I would say its softer than stock and more forgiving on dips and speed bumps. I also did get new Cooper tires a few months before the 5100"s. I wasn't happy driving the truck around, I was driving the wifes 15 Corolla around as much as I could. Once I put the 5100's on, I basically stopped driving her car. Then I put a sound system in the truck, so I'm always in it now.

Do you think replacing my stock front shocks and a new set of tires at the same time is a smart move if both are close to the end of life? My thinking is it would only need one alignment if both are replaced together or close enough to only need to be done once.

Yes, tires don't really affect alignment unless its a big size change. But you gotta do it right after the shocks.

I'd would do both at the same time honestly. Then it will feel like a brand new truck!
