I made sure I purchased them preassembled so I wouldn't have to deal with them. But after install I had no alignment issues!!!!

Noise still there when I start out and then goes away. Made sure everything was nice and tight after a 300 mile trip. Nothing moved or was loose. Ride is beautiful. I just need to add the AAL. Oh yeah and I had no drift without doing an alignment, my plan is to do an alignment after I figure out how to install the AAL.

    ALL KINDS OF SHIT

It's a bad idea. It's dangerous as hell. Not to mention it's easy to damage a shock shaft or top plate doing it in the truck. Doing it the right way is no big deal. Call around your local shops, I'm sure some one will change your coils over for a very small fee. All you need to do is remove the strut assemblies and take them to them. If your wanting to set them at 2.5 you may not even be able to compress them far enough.

Seriously, No this operation isn't dangerous if you are careful. The upper control arm wraps around the strut. The spring just can't fly out. The jack under the lower control arm method releases the pressure (or compresses)!nice and controlled. Safer than most DIY compressors and works about the same as a pro hydraulic compressor. Just be smart. If you can find some local members and have a mod day to help you out.

It really is. If you ever have used those clamps before and you try this jack method you will be like "holy shit, how come this gets such a bad rap?" People can do stupid things. There is a video going around of an ass who un bolts a strut while holding to the shop floor with his foot. Now that is dangerous. This barely needs to compress before you can get your nut back on the strut. Boom safe. Tighten her up.

You don't have to fully compress. Just enough to get the strut bolt in the hole and get your nut threaded on. Then jack it up, tighten and torque everything. The hardest part is you are using a wrench on the top bolt, can't fit a ratchet above the tower.

One more thing. Make sure your spring is right side up. Flat side up, side with the full wire showing needs to seat in the shock ring.
