    Hey guys,
i've been doing a lot of searching and reading, and i'm feeling a little overwhelmed with the amount of back and fourth answers and opinions.

I am in need of replacing my current 5100's on my 2013 double cab taco. They are currently set at 2.5 and in the stock coils. I want to stick with the current ride height if i can, but I'm finding the ride itself pretty rough. I'm not certain if its my worn out shocks, or the preloaded coil as it's maxed out to 2.5".

Im on a bit of a budget here and would be happy to stick with another set of 5100's. But whats my best bet for overall ride quality and replacing the stock spring.

    These sparked my interest:

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Front-adjustable-coil-over-kit-with-Bilstein-5100s_p_325.html#

Is there any difference between these and the Toytech Boss Coil overs?

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/ToyTec-BOSS-Coilovers_p_1128.html

If I'm looking to get that same 2.5" inches of lift, would the coil not be preloaded the same with with a coil over vs adjusted strut and spring?

Than i guess theres the option of heavier springs and setting the struts at a lower setting, which I'm not very familiar with.

If anyone has any input on this that'd be great.
    Thanks!

Just get the 887 coils and set your 5100s at 0 unless your current shocks are blown out. Then just get new 5100s as well.

Im defiently getting new 5100's regardless. Just deciding if i want to throw them back in the stock coils, or if i'd benefit from a different aftermarket coil like the 887 or eibech toy tech ones.

887s will give you your lift without any preload needed. Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road can hook you up.

So 887's and 5100's at 0 will give me the same height as my stock coils and 2.5 setting i assume?
This seems like a good route!

What about the 886? headstrong website says the 886 gives 2.5 of lift, 887 is 3.0"

Ouch on the shipping. 886s are rated as heavy duty springs for people with extra weight in the front..plate bumpers, winches etc. They will give you the 2.5 but may be a little stiff with no added weight.

Not sure but you can check, I think you may get 2.5 out of 885s as well.

The same shit everyone else has.
Im a fan of my 5100s set at .85, Eibach springs, and 1/4" top plates. Little bit of preload which stiffens everything up but not too much to make the ride uncomfortable.

hmm, that could be an option. i likes the sounds of the 887's and 5100's for simplicity sake.

Can anyone chime in on ride quality/stiffness of these longer style coils? I feel like anything i do will be an upgrade at this point. When i replaced the rears i couldn't believe how shot my shocks were. So if the fronts are anything like the rears were.. i'll be in for a pleasant surprise when everything switched over!

Results vary by truck it seems but I got a little over 2" of lift with 885's and 5100's...... which is what I was going for so all good. I don't have any experience lifting with stock coils but it sounds like 887's would be the best bet for matching your current lift height.

Garret if you are not putting extra weight in the front 885 springs and 5100's set at 0 should give you 2 1/2 inches and it will ride great!
If you do not have a shell do 2" AAL's in the back and you will ride great and look great.

On my 4th gen 4Runner, I paired my 5100's with some springs from Dobinsons. I like them alot so far. They are an Aussie company set up in Florida. They have quite a range of springs depending on your desired lift height and weight up front.
