Double cab short bed with about 300k km or 185k miles on stock suspension.

Looking at replacing my stock suspension as its pretty shot . Currently running a steel bumper and front skid adding about 150lbs to the front. Was looking into 5100 and 885s but don't think will give me a lift of 2inch. I want to keep the 5100 at 0 but get around 2inch lift will 887s get me there or 886s. I don't want a really rough ride so hesitant on the 886s and don't intent to add anymore weight to the front also would prefer to not need ucas so only looking for a refresh and about 2inchs.

These kinda of things are always hard to guess. Everybody's truck is a little different. Don't listen to anybody who says they're 100% sure what you're gonna get. I went with 884s in my 4 banger access cab and got about 2 inches. The only extra weight I have in the front is a second battery and whatever portion of my sliders are supported by the front axle. If I had your setup and wanted around 2 inches I would try 885s with the expectation that it could be a little more or less.

But I would do UCAs no matter what, I did UCA with my 884s. I don't even want to be close to needing to worry about getting a proper alignment and with the number of people reporting they were right on the fence of proper geometry with between 2 and 2.5 inches of lift it was a no brainer for me to install them.

I added the 886 coils.....after I installed the ARB bumper & 9500 Smitty steel rope winch

    5100's are set on -0-

rears are 5100s too w/stock leafs

    rides great....but only 83K miles............

    tires are ST Maxx 265-16's

hold on to your azz for labor cost......unless you can do it...

$200 American to change the coils.....

oh yea....I added a 50# front IFS skid plate too......

so....about 250# total added extra weight

5100s set to 0" with OME 887s in front.

    IMG_20190914_1359393~2.jpg

I have a steel bumper, skid plate, lca skids, and supercharger all adding weight to front end. It is 2" higher than stock. Pretty soft / bouncy ride

@Dstin You mean LCA skids? what do you have for lift in the rear? Think the double cab would affect height at all?

Woops, yes, lca skids. Rear is 4" lift, dakar leaf pack and 5100s. I can't imagine a double cab putting much more weight on the front end than my access cab has with my bumper, winch, skids, and sc

IIRC........886's brought it up 2" as it was prior to bumper/winch install

But the 5100's were on the 3rd notch prior....

    now they are on -0-

887's on lowest setting. It was about 2.5-2.75 total after 2k miles. HS AAL in the rear without the overload. 285's with no rub.

Do you have stock UCAs? What are your wheel specs, back spacing and offset?

Are you 4wd or pre runner and do you know what your alignment numbers are with the stock UCAs? I'm debating if I want to go from 885's to 887 to get 285's to fit. wheels are 17x8 with 4.5 bs and 0 offest. Don't really want to cab mount chop so I guess I would try to copy your set up somewhat.

4wd. First alignment shop did the alignment and it drives ok. I asked him to do it to my specs but kept saying it would wear the tires. Blah blah blah.
I'm dropping off tomorrow hopefully at another shop to get aligned to my specs. I'll post after alignment to let you know. This is the first alignment. The numbers written are what I asked for, not what I got.

Thanks for sharing, yes keep us posted on what your new numbers are when you get them Those numbers you have now are too low in the caster region.

That's what I told him. A little jerky to say the least.
Shame too, been going to that shop for almost 20 years. The owner sold and now its just not the same...

What was the verdict?? Im looking to do the same setup on my 2015 as this:
however ive got the 2018 4r Trail wheels. So I might have to grab some wheel spacers. I was also just planning on going with some JBA UCA's too.

Thinking 887's with 5100's (extended travel), and HS AAL in rear +overload (ARE Cap on full time). looking to run the same 285's also on those same trail wheels looks like the wheel specs are 17"x7.5" +15 offset so just barely inside of the KO2 specs for wheel width.
Thinking this should get me roughly 3" up front and 2" in the rear if my research didnt stray me too far.
Anyone got 285s on the trail wheels with similar lift? wondering if ill need spacers or not
