Call Headstrong Off-road and talk to Marie. I went with the 885 old man emu coils and the bilsteins set at 0" and an AAL in the back. Gave me 2.5" of lift all around. Was around $600 but I also got new UCA's. not sure you'd need them if you don't go a full 3"

How did you get it so cheap?

Did you not by 5100's? Right now my kit is around $640 without UCA's.

Some terrible spacer/block lift that was on the truck when I got it. I'm looking at getting a new set up soon. Between Bilstein or OME shocks.

Oh, my bad. I must have read that quickly and come to the wrong conclusion! lol :smash:

Im at just about 600 without an aal in their cart....a cheap single aal takes it to $680.00

Maybe theres a discount they offer.

But id rec 5100 rears and a progressive aal

That's what I am at. OME set up is around $100 more.

Now, you think 5001's are better than OME?

I used the OME 885 springs. 5100's in all four corners and a Deaver AAL. Rides great.

It's a combo deal through Headstrong. I paid $1100 for all of that w new UCA's. $650ish sounds about right without upper control arms.

Don't be misled by the fact that OME shocks are more expensive. That doesn't prove they are better. They have an issue when used on 2nd gen Tacoma's. They are shorter than the Bilstien 5100. With that, the OME shock tends to run out of travel, resulting in the shock "topping out", which in turn results in a loud "THUD". Among other places you'll hear this is when you go over speed bumps, or in some off road situations. Otherwise, it's a good shock, but arguably no better than the Bilstien 5100. All things equal, the 5100's are less money. In my book, that settles the issue of which is "better".

I'm on my 4th Tacoma, 5th Toyota overall, and 17th 4wd. Not my first rodeo....43 years of owning 4wds.... Not claiming to know everything, but I've been around the block a time or 2. What did I use to raise MY 2011 TRD OR

Bilstien 5100's, set @ 0", OME 885X coils, 1/2" poly spacers on top of that to get a total of 3" of lift. I got 2.9 degrees pos. caster with stock UCA's. Not common, but it does happen. Typically, you can expect to need new UCA's with 3" lift. I used Deavers 2" AAL in the rear, along with a U-bolt flip kit. I got the "kit" from Marie @ Headstrong Off Road for $733 with struts assembled, shipped to my door. U-bolt flip kit brought the total to right at $800. It handles great, rides excellent, performs off road to my expectations, and looks great.

What are the advantages to the u-bolt flip? I'm in the same boat as you minus the flip kit.

I'm pretty sure everyone in this thread has suggested Old Man Emu coils (OME 885X's). Seriously, talk to Marie.
