Do anyone run 5100's on a Reg cab for lift? I bought a 96 Reg cab, 2.7, 5sp, 4x4 a couple months ago. It has a spacer lift on it that looks about 2" and blocks in the back. Don't know what kind of shocks, looks really old. I'm. I'm on a budget and thinking of getting 5100's all around. Taking the front spacers off and setting the front at 1.75 or 2.5. It has 265/75/16 duratracs. Would 1.75 clear those ok with a Reg cab or 2.5? It's my weekend ride and I do go off road but it's mild stuff around here. Thanks for any advice.

You should clear those tires ok, maybe a little bit of rubbing. I have toytec coilovers, which are essentially 5100s, set at 3" with 33x10.5 KM2s. I also have an extended cab with an ARB so I'm running higher rate springs. Make sure the coils you out on are made for a regular cab, I think the kit from toytec has springs that are a bit heavy for regular cabs with the 2.7.

image.jpg I'm on a very small budget. I'm rocking rough country shocks (oem length) with old man emu 2881 springs and an add a leaf out back. Gave me a leveled look and about 2.5" of lift up front. Only 200 bucks or so to lift it too! The pic show my 32" mud terrains.

Nice looking setup. I've thought about the ome springs also. I have the stock bumper, no plan on changing it. Wonder if the ome 881 would be too much or maybe go with 880? Thanks for the info.

My truck was able to clear 265/70r17s (identical to 265/75r16s) with VERY mild rub on the mudflaps. Stock height. Any lift at all and you will be fine.

I'm not sure about the lift differences between the 880 and 881 to be honest.

That's a great looking single cab, Jacob! I really like that color, though I think in general most folks don't. Or I'm confusing it with a different color that folks seem to frown on. Regardless, your tacoma has a killer stance and it suits the single cab very well. Plus I love the steelies, awesome choices man. What vehicles are your steelies from?

The steelies are factory fj 17". The tires are 255/75/17 km1s that came on rubicon jeeps from the factory. The paradise blue metallic color is hella rare (only 2.5 years), and it grew on me. Impossible to lose in a parking lot

Upgrade to the 5100's for now since you probably need new struts anyways. I'd add the ome coils later but focus more on getting the ride smooth and finding tires.20160416_165428-1.jpg
This is my truck with factory TRD Bilstein's and ome 881's on 305/70R17's. If it's just the weekend truck, I'd cut the fender to clear whatever tire size you want. But that's just me

Oh okay, so that's a new color then? I'm mixing it up with that turquoise kinda color from early tacos. I think it looks great on your truck. I forgot about the fj cruiser wheels sharing the same bolt pattern. I'll have to remember as I keep trying to track down some steelies. Thanks for the info. Good looking taco hombre.
Edit: I missread your post. The color was only used for 2.5 years of taco production, not that your paint job is 2.5 years old. Lolol. I got it now

The turquoise was from 98-00. Here's a cool website for you to check out: http://www.toyotareference.com/tacoma/1995-2004

On my 02 reg cab I added Blistein 5100s all around, Old Man Emu 2881 coils in the front, and a Wheeler's 3 leaf progressive 1.5" AAL in the rear. This setup gave me 2-2.5" of lift based on my measurements (I have the exact measurements in the last post of my build thread). I was able to fit 265/75/R16 BFG KO2s with only a tiny bit of rubbing on my front mud flaps at full lock. Overall, I like this setup, it isn't super expensive like some setups are but it still gives my reg cab the perfect stance and great all around capabilities!

I got a 2002 prerunner and I just put on 5100 bilstein struts and rear shocks.
It made a world of difference, add about 2 inches to the height, and made it level.
I got 265/70/16 on it and now the tires look small. There's plenty of clearance

I have Bilstien 5100s and 881s and a 2" AAL on my regular cab. It added about 2" all around on my truck and I am now running 265/75/R16 tires. Check the last post of my build for all the exact measurments. As for the ride I think it is an improvement over stock, but don't expect it to ride like a Cadillac.

I have to say, the ride is sweet.
I got 265/70/16 and I got plenty of room to get a little bigger set of tires.
I talk to the saleman down at my local discount tire store, and they are going to help me make sure I get the right size of tires to go on my rims, and not rub anywhere.
I did have to buy bigger u bolts for the 2" spacers
    Hope this helps.

2 inches in the front and 2 inches in the back.
Now the truck is even, and I can still have room for a 3 inch spacer.
I just like the way it looks even.

Are you running the RCD billies or just the regular ones?
