I've been reading all the threads on 5100's and Eibach and I still can't decide on which setting I should use....I'd like to use 0.85 but I'm concerned about the CV angle (don't plan on changing the UCA's). Who has run on the .85 setting without UCA's and how are your CV joints after being on for awhile?

Everybody also says that the ride is better than stock....what is everybody's definition of better? Is it firmer than stock?

Also I know that the Eibach's are a linear coil, but to everybody's opinion at the 0 and/or 0.85 setting how stiff are they compared to stock? I have the TRD OR but a buddy of mine has the sport, so please tell me what you are comparing them to and I'll have a good idea.

    Thanks.

Well I know this. If you don't set it at .85 you will kick yourself six months down the line wishing you would of.

Fog lights, back-up camera, TRD cat-back exhaust, towing package, int. wiper stalk, Weathertech floor liners, color-matched the front bumper and grille, TSB leaf packs, Front Bilstein 5100's at 0", Eibach/Toytec coils (approx 1.25" front lift - sits almost level), rear Bilstein 5100's.
Not sure if this will help you or not - but I have 5100's all around with the fronts at 0" and the Eibach coils. This put me at about 1.25" of lift in the front with a wee bit of rake still (I have the TSB packs in the rear). The change in the CV angle is very slight; it's hardly noticeable. The shop didn't have any problems during alignment either with stock ucas. I've been running it for two weeks now, roughly 9 hours of driving a week, and haven't noticed any weird sounds, grinds, thunks etc. This even included some light 4x4 trail use last weekend.

This isn't to say there won't be premature wear on some components due to the angle changes, eventually. I'm sure there will be some worn parts that I'll have to replace at some point, but I guess this is something I just accept that I'm going to have to do once I start changing things from stock. If it gets to be too $$$ and I'm having to replace parts more often than I thought I would, I've kept every single part I've taken off and can go back to stock if need be.

The ride is noticeably more firm; you'll feel more of the road, but all the annoying mushiness is gone. Feels more like a truck should now, in my opinion. It also corners better and there's less of that "lurch" on fast starts.

My truck is a base v6 access cab 4x4.

I did look into the OME but someone at Toytec talked me into the Eibach...I already ordered them earlier this week.

Still on the fence...I'll get the 5100's and the Eibach's either next week or the following week (I'm in Canada) so I still have some time to decide on which setting.

I have the OR model so my truck is a lot stiffer than the Sport model...I was hoping that with the 5100's and Eibachs the ride would be in the middle of the two. I guess I'll find out when I get them installed.

i have 5100's with OME coils set at "0" and i love the ride, it is a LITTLE bit stiffer than stock, but all around its not that noticable.

You got 2"??? Toytec listed them on their site as 1.6" average on 2nd gen. I'm not running an aftermarket bumper... The only thing I can guess is that there might be added weight from the tranny cooler that came with the tow package. Not sure how much that thing weighs.

I have had my 5100/ Eibach combo set at both .85 and 0. My CV angles did steepen with the extra .85". I also eventually replaced my uca's because I was not happy with the quality of my steering on the highway(wanted more caster) once I bumped up to .85".

Ultimately it is your call, just thought I would share my experience

The ride is stiffer than the stock setup.

If you're not buying new UCA's and don't want to worry about CV angles, set them at 0. As long as you don't ultimately want a taller lift, you'll be happy with the result. The Eibach coils are stiff, noticeable stiffer than stock. I don't mind the ride at 0 but if I were to go for a taller lift without armor, I'd probably go with OME coils vs. preloading the Eibachs.

I'm kinda wishing I would have gone with the OME 884 but someone at Toytec talked me into the Eibach...said I can get the same result as the 884 with the Eibach at .85 and the ride would be the same.

Hate to say it but that's horribly inaccurate... The Eibachs are quite a bit stiffer than the OME coils so when you add more preload, they just get stiffer.

Also, the Eibachs give you around 1.6" of lift, the OME 884's will give you around 2" of lift. OME 883's are the OME coils that give you 1.5" of lift. The 885's would be closer to the amount of lift you'd get with Eibachs on 5100's set at .85 (maybe a bit more with the 885's but very similar).

Yeah, that's why I'm kinda wish I would have bought the 884....shouldn't have listened to the person at Toytec. Do you think I'll get 2.5" of lift at .85 with the Eibach?

So after reading this thread I'm getting concerned with doing the 5100's in the front and leaving everything else stock (UCA, LCA, springs, etc.). I just bought the truck 2 months ago (2012 4x4 DCSB Sport). They're set at 1.75 currently. The truck sits level now and I really like the ride height. Is this going to cause premature wear & tear on everything? The ride is a little different, but I can't decide if its better or just the same. It also seems that the suspension "rattles" a little when I hit bumps. I was just thinking it may be the factory springs or something.

Also, after I installed them I took the truck for an alignment, it seems as though the camber is still a little off, but its hard to tell. It could just be an optical illusion, hard to tell. I keep meaning to take it back but haven't had time with work and being out of town. Hope to take it back soon for them to check the camber.

Should I get the OME or Eibach springs? Change the UCA, LCA, etc.?

You are likely just fine. 1.75 " is a very small lift. It is unlikely you are significantly streesing anything. If you are pleased with your ride, stick with it for awhile. Do you remember your alignment numbers?

I have the alignment paper (somewhere). I'll post later tonight when I get home.

Oh, and I have a little bit bigger tire than stock, BFG Rugged Terrain 265/70/R17. One reason I wanted the lift in the front so I could have more clearance, there was a little rubbing.
