5100's at .85 = 1.5" Lift?

    2012 Sport 4x4 DCSB. Truck has only 900 miles. It does have the 4 leaf spring pack straight from the manufacturer. Just installed my 5100's set at .85 and got right at 1.5" lift in the front with the stock coils. Does this seem right? I was debating between .85 and 1.75 to just level the truck or keep just a little rake. I'm glad I went with .85. I know the shocks are set at the 2nd adjustment (.85) and the coil seats are not upside down. I like the look, but wasn't expecting quite that much lift at .85. Here are my measurements (ground to fender on level surface).

    Stock coils, stock shocks, stock rear springs, stock Bridgestones (32 psi):
    LF = 34.50"
    RF = 34.75"
    LR = 36.75"
    RR = 36.75"

    Stock coils, stock shocks, stock rear springs, Duratrac 265/70/17 (35 psi):
    LF = 35.25"
    RF = 35.50"
    LR = 37.50"
    RR = 37.50"

    Stock coils, 5100's set at .85, stock rear springs, Duratrac 265/70/17 (35 psi):
    LF = 36.75"
    RF = 37.00"
    LR = 37.50"
    RR = 37.50"

    So, bottom line, I got 2.25" of lift from 5100's set at .85 (1.50") and 265/70/17 Duratracs (0.75"). CV's changed a little, but not too bad.

    One other question. To the naked eye, camber looks fine. Truck also drives perfectly straight on the highway. It doesn't wander or pull to either side. Do you think I should still have my alignment checked? I'm really happy how it looks, rides, and drives.

    As I mentioned in my first post, the spring seats are not upside down. I was very careful to make sure they were on correctly. After I measured the 1.5" gain, I double checked again. I am sure they are on the correct way. Here's the best pics I can get without removing the wheels.

    Could I be missing something with the way I'm measuring? Just makes sense to me that ground to fender (before 5100's and after 5100's) would be the lift achieved from the shocks. I've double double checked and they are set at .85. I couldn't really get a pic to prove that.

    As far as the ride, it's more firm and doesn't shake as much when you hit a bump (like going over a bridge or something). It just feels more stable, if that makes any sense.

    Since it seems to drive straight (no wandering or pulling to one side) should I still get my alignment checked?

    Thanks. I didn't think I had them on wrong.

    I just went back out and measured center of hub to fender. I had also measured this way when it was stock. Stock showed 20.25" on LF and 20.50" on RF. It's now showing 21.75" on LF and 22.00" on RF. It's 15.00" from ground to center of hub. It all adds up. I'm getting 0.75" from the larger tires (old ground to center of hub was 14.25") and 1.50" from the shocks set at .85. Is it unusual to get this much lift with the 5100's set on .85 with the stock coil springs? It's only been driven maybe 20 miles. Could it settle any?

    Yep. There are 4 notches. The very bottom one is 0, the next one up is .85. This is where the clip is set. There are two more open notches above where the clip is.

    Since my measurements have all been within a few hundred miles of each other (and the truck only has 900+ miles), I didn't think the springs themselves would make a difference in the measurements, but didn't know if maybe they would "settle" a little on the seat of the new shocks.

    Craziness... Unfortunately, I don't know what to tell you other than, if you like the look and the ride, keep it there and see if it settles any.

    5100's all on fours
    Give it two weeks and see if it settles. I honestly think it's the 900 miles "fresh" springs. When I did my Tundy, I came out with 4" of lift at the 2.5" setting. It took a week to completely settle... and that was with 80k mile springs. I'm willing to bet you'll lose half an inch by Sunday

    Sounds like the same thing im dealing with i just threw in 884s on my rc started out at 34" now im at 37.5 inches. JUst got 5100's debating on what setting to put them at .85 or 1.75?

    I wouldn't put the 5100's up any higher than the stock setting if you already gained 3" of lift with just the coils.

    i forgot to say im taking the 884s out ut the stock coils back in my cvs arent looking to healthy. But the alingment came well with spec that i was surprised at.

    If you like the ride with the OME coils but want less height, you should try the 883's. Same spring rate but 10mm shorter.

    i was thinking that but the 5100 are gonna offer a bit better ride for when i go playing up north and hopefully the clunking noise i get when i hit a bump goes away

    Truck looks good OP! Enjoy the height as it will prob settle after you put some miles on the springs! Id deff get an alignment anytime you change the suspension!

    So I have a 2012 Trd Tacoma dcab with the 3 pack leaf. It has 14,000 on it now. Im wanting to do the same .85 lift. My truck sets pretty level now which is odd for stock. Just wanting a little more clearance. Has your truck settled down any after putting them on ? And what are the wheels you have? I have searched for them cant find them exactly.

    I just did my truck too, installed 5100 front at 0.85 and rear. Also installed Firestone Ride Rites.

    Measuring from ground to fender, I went from 34.25" to 36" F and 36" to 37" Rwith the minimum pressure in the air bags and was also concerned about the height, but i'll wait a while to see if anything changes. Truck has 29k miles.

    I recently traded the truck for a full size, but at 13K, it really hadn't settled much at all if any. My truck was a sport with the 4 leaf pack. Wheels are a Tirerack exclusive wheel (at least in 17"). They are Ultra Motorsports Type 62. Here is a link:

    I have the 4 leaf pack in the back. I did the 1.75 setting with 265/70/17s. Im happy with the ride and I got a good amount of lift.
