So I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the tsb done on my truck, and I also want to put some billie's up front to compensate for it, and the larger tires that will eventually come. My question is, will the dealer deny me the tsb if I have the billie's on before I take it in? I've heard that this is the way to go so I can get it aligned at the same time, but my dealer's service dept. has a less than honest reputation, and would probably nit-pik at everything possible to deny me the tsb.

    Check build in sig.
the front billies have nothing to do with the rear springs so i don't see why not.

I just didn't know if the dealer could say that my warranty is void since I've altered the stock suspension.

my dealer told me to do the 5100s first so i got the free alignment.
on my new truck i will buy the 5100s, take it in for "eval" for TSB and get parts ordered, install 5100s, get TSB done, get FREE ALIGNMENT!

have them look at it stock, approve the tsb, order the parts and then ask them about their take on having the billies installed for the free alignment. thats what i did. When I asked, my dealer freaked out and told me the 5100s would void the warranty and all that bs so I just kept it stock for the tsb and took the hit on the second alignment. It looks like it depends on the dealer so just ask first. you dont wanna show up with your installed 5100s and give them an excuse to reject installing the tsb. maybe call around to a couple of different dealers too. we just have 1 on maui which sucks. thats my take

I put my billy's in before the TSB, and when they did the TSB they said they had to remove the shocks and put in new ones, because they had to return the old shocks to toyota to prove the work was done. They ended up handing me the new shocks they ordered, then I ran home and brought my old stockers for them to send to toyota.

I'd recommend that you actually wait and get an independant alignment done after the billys and TSB are on. Why you ask? Good question.

I had the TSB done first, as I didn't want to tell the dealer to wait while the Billys were being shipped, then installed, as I was waiting some time for them to get the parts in to begin with. After the TSB, the truck still drove the same, still felt "light" in the front end. Springs were definitely firmer, but still a bit off due to front end.

I installed the Billys, and didn't get it aligned right away as I only did .85 lift. Still felt "light". A couple weeks later I took it in to Firestone and gave them specific alignment settings (2.1/0/0) for stock tires. When they put it on the rack, all the current settings fell into the acceptable (green) range. They asked if I still wanted the specific settings, I said yes, they then set them all there, within a tenth or so.

"Light" feel gone. Drives much better.

So, unless you can talk your dealer into using the specific settings, I'd recommend an independent alignment following both the TSB and the Billys.
