    Like 05offroad said, you need a spring compressor, & take note of the nut I'm pointing at in pic, you need to back it off but DO NOT TAKE OFF !! Until the coil spring is safely compressed enough to do so, failing this it could cost you your life, no shit dude, the nut holds the preload of the coil over spring on the shock !!

    So i did something stupid. I tried to replace my stock billies with the old emu 3 inch coil over. I didnt know i had to compress the coil, i know i know, talk ur shit. So anyways i took off all of the top nuts, then the bottom nut and kicked the bottom of the shock out. Anyways good thing i couldnt get it out or id be dead. It took 2 hours to get the bottom of the shock back into place in order to bolt the bottom back in. Later on i find out i need to compress the coil. I dont think id be here if it had popped out all the way

    yeah man i went to tj telliing my mechanic "hey i tried to replace the shock but its too hard it wouldnt budge" hes like "man u should be glad it didnt, shit flies out at 120 mph, u woulda been toast" ...i come back to my gfs house with the news "hey dave, remember that front coil over, well we coulda been dead if it came out:)"
    but yeah man whew. i didnt get scared i was just like ....[​IMG]hehehe
