I am getting a new set of bad ass Pelfreybilt steel bumpers front and back (before and after pics to come) for my 2015 DCSB TRD Off Road and am thinking I will need to get some suspension upgrades to fight the sag. I will running my stock Rugged Trails for the rest of the summer, but will upgrade those at some point.

My question is will a set of Bilstein 5100s cover the extra weight or do I need to do something a little more ($).

If the Bilstein 5100s would do, what setting would they need to be set at?

PS: I am not entering the Baja 1000 or trying to be a stadium truck. My truck is used for hunting and for work which can sometimes take me to remote and muddy places. Lastly, I want the truck to be rugged and look bad ass (hence the Pelfreybilt). The truck will be used 90% on road (daily driver) and 10% in the woods (but not high speed romping)

    Thanks!

do it right the first time, grab a set of ome coils and struts and dont worry about it. preloading 5100 with stock coils will give you a super stiff ride. 886 coils if you decide down the road to add a winch or double up on batteries.

Shocks do little to support weight. They dampen the compression and rebound of the springs. Springs support the weight.

Like has been said, pair a good set of springs with a good set of shocks.

After reviewing more of the site and your suggestions, I am thinking OME 886 Coils and possibly 90000 shocks for the front. The rear still has me confused. Thinking an add a leaf but am reading conflicting info on the appropriate OME rear shock for the 2015 DCSB TRD Off Road.
