My setup is the ToyTec BK0510 Bilstein Adjustable Lift Kit with 5100 adjustable shocks. I set the shocks to the lowest ring setting because the ToyTec springs and spacer add the height already. I put them and she road great.

Now, I have wanted a Pelfrey front bumper the moment I saw one. I went with the aluminum to save weight because I didn't want it to be too nose heavy. She is still bouncy though. Like she would be if the shock were worn out but they are only 4 months old.

My question is do I go up on the adjustment ring and will it do away with the bounce? There is no adjustment for the damping. I don't want more height because I hate it when I see a truck with it's rear lower.

I forgot to add that I plan to put a winch, light, sliders, and a rear bumper on it.

Stiffer (springrate) springs needed. I'm guessing you're running Eibachs up front in that ToyTech kit, which I believe are either 600 or 620. I recommend OME 886 coil springs to help with the added weight.

I'm in your shoe also however I have steel front plate bumper. With 5100's and eibach 620lbs. With that I already lost some lift. Even with the 886 rated @ 650lbs with steel sliders and a winch you will lose some lifts. So it all comes down to how will you like it. Not just that 5100's is limited unlike true coil overs where you can adjust your height according to your style.

I have the ToyTec brand springs. I don't know who makes them for ToyTec. I am happy with the height it is the bounce that I hate. I was looking at their site again and looked at OME and they at least talk about the extra add-ons. I just hate it caused I cost myself money it seams.

Explain more about the bounce is a firm or soft bounce. Toytec coils is made by eibach and it's rated @ 620lbs. Before I even got my bumper the 5100's with eibach coils was a stiffer ride but once the front plate bumper was install the ride was better. Although if I can do it over again I would go for 886 spring or even higher.

Soft. Come to a stop and it is down, up, down, up, settle. One to many cycles. It was stiffer before the bumper and I thought it would lighten up a little. It is ok but I'm concerned about the winch, lights and sliders being added. OK now turns into way to much later.

I was wondering if I needed to take it to the next ring stop or would that just raise the height?

The 5100's can't keep up with springs that are rated at more than 600 lbs from what I understand. I've heard about this problem before. The local fab shop won't put 5100's or a Toytec kit on if the customer plans on running heavier springs anymore due to ride complaints.

Also check your 5100's for leaks. I've seen them blowout rather fast sometimes if used offroad for one silly reason or another. They are a great product but you do get what you pay for.

Damn. When I started this, it was always the plan to build it in stages. I even called ToyTec to ensure that I could grow over time. I probably should have been more detailed in the explanation of my plan. Now I feel like I'm past a point and now have to drop serious cash for a new lift setup. I WANT the bumper, lights, winch, and slides. I would also like to do all new skids.

I made a deal with the wife that I would not buy a 2017 TRD Pro because of the initial cost. We agreed that I could build the truck I wanted over time. Just hate that this will cost me more money than I had planned.

Naw the eibach is specific made to be pair with the 5100's. Maybe if you had the Ome then maybe we can say it can't keep up with the spring. Ok here is the deal eibach coils will give you 1.6" lift and you didn't go up a knotch. So that's not the problem it should even ride better since there no preload. But yea your problem don't seem normal at all. 5100's is a stiff ride even if you have your bumper it would even been a better since you added more weight. My question is who install it? There been time where people install the coils upside and the ride is really mushy. Could be a blown struts check you suspension for anything that done look right. Maybe take a picture and show us.

Yes I agree that he should check his shocks. I'm also passing on what I've learned from the local fab shop. 5100's seemed to be really common here a couple of years ago and not so much now. I asked why and they said they had too many complaints and they attributed it to the spring rate of the Eibach coils especially on lighter builds.

I'm not here to knock Toytec. They've treated me right. Just passing on information.

Local shop assembled the springs and shock together and I installed them on the truck. I'll take some pictures in the morning and post.

Well it seem like you got it plan out well. We all will run through trials of hiccups. I know I did after my steel front plate and sliders I lost some almost a inch of lift. I thought I had it all plan out but nope. Now I'm in the process of getting a true coil overs with a higher spring rate to acomodate the weight I have added. What I learn is read plenty of review and ask questions. Build you rig for the future and do it once and do it right.
