I just recently installed the adjustable 5100s on my truck.
When i compare the two sides, driver and passenger sides, the driver side is lower than the passenger side by alittle more than 1 inch. (exact is 1 inch and a half). I know some poeple are experiencing this but is 1 inch difference normal? Chime in if you guys have had this problem. Thanks

    Do guesses count???
I'm thinking full gas tank? Check the measurement between full & empty.

But 1 1/2" seems like ALOT!

I had the same problem with my new lift. get Toytec part number TP14 1/4" top plate spacer to get back about a 1/2". mine is only lower by 5/8" now on the drivers side which believe it or not is alot less noticeable

    DK,these TP14s will fit the 5100s?:)
Do I need to buy two to get that 1/2"?
The plates are a 1/4 but Toyotec says one will add 1/2".

Front Top Plate Spacer (One - 1/4")

    Price (Each): $19.99

    TP14 ---
Top plate spacer adds approximately 1/2" lift. Great for correction of drivers side ride height. Includes 1 spacer

Here is a funny little bit of information I learned from TRD this past week. 05+ tacomas have the taco lean from not only being heavier on one side as compared to the other. Also some tacos came from the factory with frame that was not true, and guess what they can all be pointed directly to the indiana factory, odly enough not a toyota factory a GM factory. haha, great stuff

Right, it is a 1/4" spacer but the lift ratio is 2:1 so that 1/4" spacer will in fact give you a half inch lift. DO NOT STACK SPACERS! plus the top plate studs will not be long enough to cover that anyway. They should definitely fit the 5100's because the spacer fits on top of the coilover, not between the spring and top plate.

I know on the first gen trucks - the coils are side specific. The drivers side coil has an additional winding in it.

Not sure if the 2nd gens are like that or not.... and if they are, is it possible you got the coils mismatched from side to side?

Try swapping the coil assemblies and see what it does.

So if i understand this correctly, for the top plate i do not have to take out the coil from the shocks?

Old picture off a 1st gen... but this is the entire coil/strut assembly as its removed from the vehicle.

The top plate spacer will have 3 holes and it just slaps onto the assembly and you mount the entire thing inthe truck.

Do you have any documentation or a credible source to back that up? I'd like to look into where my '08 was built since my lean is about 1"+.

Do a search and youll find plenty-many may not be an inch though.

I'm a bit po'd about Toyota's failure to address this issue. The dealer told me that 1/2" is within tolerance but offered no solution for my 1" +. I don't see how a manufacturer lets this get by.

Dana Corp makes all the Tacoma frames. regardless of where they are installed on the boddy/chassis. The frames are going to have a tolerance of some kind, but Im not sure if that corelates to the lean.

Deadbolt, Jansters is correct. The Tacomas have a driver and passenger side specific spring. Try swapping sides and see if that fixes the issue.
