It was that way long before the Tacoma came along, I had a 79 4x pickup and the leaf springs were indeed side specific, about a half inch longer if I remember correctly and they came from the factory built that way

    Ordered the part $19.99.
    Shipping and handling was $9.74.
    That's a lot of coin for a 1/4 spacer that weighs probably 2-3 ounces.:D

When you need the part...you need the part and have to pay dearly sometimes.:)

For the record I had the "Taco Lean" as well when I had just the 5100's installed which is why I opted for the Toytec Coilover kit recently. I was able to adjust each side and remove the lean. Grant you the coilover kit is $430 compared to $20 for the top plate.

wow talk about bringin up an old thread.
the famous taco lean is pretty much standard on all tacomas. the front drivers side is 1/2inch lower than the pass side due to the weight of the battery, fuel and driver all on the left side.

    Too few to list.

The lean is now just less than half an inch with a full tank. It was just more of a pain to install the whole coil assembly back since there's now -1/4" of space to line everything up.
