Hey guys! Might be picking up a set of 5100s this weekend that’s if all goes well anyway. Once I get them I’ll order the driver side needle bearing and do the lift at some point. Planning on running it the 0.65” or maybe the 1.1” setting on stock coils so it gives it a decent level look without going crazy on lift. Question is do I need to do the 1/4” spacer as well?! I’ve heard it both ways. Some people say with stock coils I wouldn’t need it some people do. Anyone been through this?

As far as stock coils and the spacer.
I yet to see the difference between pass. a driver’s sides coils. In my case the total length of the assembly, length of coils and the markings are the same.
Browsing Toyota parts catalog for my trim is inconclusive. But some folks are saying that the driver’s side lean is compensated in the coils.

As far as I can see from the browsing the Toyota parts catalog, the part number are exactly the same for non TRD Pro trucks.

That what I see. When I took my struts out I forgot to mark sides and spent some time to figure it out. Both struts have components with the same part #.
Op, I would get the spacer.

I would measure from wheel hub center to fender on both sides, if drivers side is.lower by 1/4 -1/2 inch, yes, add the spacer.

Depends on how particular you are. Did not put a spacer on and my lean is exactly 1/2” and I notice it every time I look at the truck. 5100s (1.5” notch) with stock coils. My only regret is not doing it when I had everything apart and hesitant to do it now after playing around with alignment and eliminating vibrations.

A lot of the charts floating around for 5100 lift heights will suggest running the driver's side one clip higher instead of a spacer.

I thought about that method as well! Not sure which way I’ll go. Figured I’ll order spacer too for all the more they cost. I’m planning on doing the ECGS bushing too while I have everything apart.

1/4 spacer, would not recommend two different settings. The shocks would respond differently base on what's I have been reading.
