Hello all, today I installed a 5400 POP n LOCK and there's a sizable gap at the bottom of the handle. I know it's installed properly. I plan to take the tailgate cover off and put a sealer of some sort. What type/brand would you suggest? Like metal to plastic that won't sag or try out. Thanks in advance.

I went for the electronic lock that goes inside the tailgate and uses the factory tailgate handle.

I didn't have that issue, might want to double-check your installation.

For sealant just use a good exterior grade silicone from the local Ace or big box store.

I have the same handle, I have a white truck. I went to lowes and got some white silicone the kind you use in the bathroom or shower so it would not mildew. just my .02

By any chance did you forget to take the sealant(I don't know what that part is called) from the original handle and re-install it into the P&L?

Nope, I put the original seal on the new handle but it's the bottom that has the gap. I put some non-sag silicon on it and I think I'm good now. Thanks to everyone who chipped in.
