Hey everyone, relatively new to the forum and was just wondering which tire/wheel place you would recommend around the Visalia/Tulare area? Just picked up a set of new rims and wanted to swap them out with my current ones. Any insight is appreciated!

carols has always been good to me but sometimes their installers suck! anytime I have an issue, they make it right though.

I've been effed by other places in town. well, moreso that they tried to eff me.

I have been going to walmart for tires for the last couple years. no problems. still go to carols for alignments though.

Sierra sky ranch road in oakhurst has some good snow runs in the winter. That's where I took my 4x4 tundra. Now I got a 2wd LT truck so i have to find different areas Haha

Easy. haha. but they say about a class 1 (2wd graded dirt) with bits of class 2 (high clearance 4x4) if you go around stuff. But there is some minor class three (minor lift and or armor and a locker) on the trail if you want and one spot you have to go over some class three. As long as you choose the right line of approach a stock vehicle like mine, with 4x4 can make it. I did 1/3 of the trail weighted down in 2wd. If I had the right tires and the grey wire mode I bet you I could do the whole thing.

Yeah sky ranch is cool, for snow runs I would choose beashore though, near bass lake. Then you can go through grizzly pass over to mammoth lake and down through north fork to make a loop.

All the snow mobile guys go to whiskey creek if I remember right. Never been there though.

    Either is good.

shoot, 2wd would make it even more fun. :p

Looks like fun, my child doesn't like loud noises yet (still too young) and my wife isn't a fan of staring at other people having fun. I on the other hand would love to watch, hear, and smell all that.

strawberry dominated! it beat the crap outta both difs, frame, lca's, and especially the exhaust tailpipe. no body damage though!

something awesome about being in the best spot on the lake, and forest service along with the local 4x4 club come up in their rock-rigs and cant believe their eyes.

"saw you guys go by and didn't think you would make it."
    "na, wasn't too bad"
"either of you guys have a winch????"
    "got a highlift. . . it works :)"
"well, best of luck getting out."
"thanks, but we will be fine"

    awesomeness

yes lol, that picture is actually from a few weeks ago when I attempted the trail and gave up because I had no one to spot me. that's early on in the trail, it got quite a bit more difficult than that.

the truck I was with this time that led me in is a 1st gen 4cyl 5spd on 265/75/16 and otherwise stock. he claimed he had to be more picky choosing lines than I was (no lift) but we went over the same stuff. he lost traction and slid into a tree once but there isn't a mark on his truck.

that trail is a blast and I would suggest anybody who wants to push their mostly stock truck to do it. I would have been really bad off without my crossover fix or tires though. and fancy rims would not be good in there, all four of mine suffered some damage

Meh. Work mostly. Got some SCS F-5 on order. Can't wait to get those in. Going camping with some dudes from work the weekend after next up by Huntington lake. Can't wait to get up to the mountains and out of this valley.
