I don't think I'll be able to make a wheeling trip for quite a while. I will be going over seas for about a year and its going to be too hectic between now and when I leave. Sorry guys.

wellp. went ahead and day-tripped strawberry today as a scouting mission :spy:

finally got a reason to buy sliders. shit.

and then we left just in time. the clouds started getting pretty dark at the lake so we jammed. crazy as hail

all-in-all a good day. took me 2 1/2 hours from pavement to strawberry, and that was with a lunch at west lake, which is about an hour before strawberry. lots of scraping diffs and frame, would not want to do without my exhaust mods (4cyl guys r fine), 32" tires minimum, and a small lift.

the guys I ran into up there didn't think it was possible without high-clearance bumpers, aftermarket c/v's, winches, and 33's, but again, I showed em! they needed all that crap because they were all in Nissans

nice rigs though, one heavily modified sas pathfinder, a couple heavily modified Exterra's, and of course, the jeeps. nice people they just didn't share the Toyota faith

What's up everyone , I'm new to TW even though I created this account about a year ago. I haven't really had time to log in and check everything out. I'm from Tulare and just wanted to say what's up. I'm currently saving cash for a lift. Im just not sure to go with a 6" or 3". If anyone has suggestions or any good places where I can get more info around my area and estimates, thanks!

ome makes a nice kit, if you have cash for a lift, get a new leaf pack, allpro has a good pack( that's what I got). if you want a low maintenance lift that will work reliably, no frills ome is nice, or you can go the coilover route like icons, fox or kings.and for upper control arms go for uniball arms instead of a balljoint,
have a look at my build thread if u like, I wheel the shit out of my truck on a regular basis

Thanks for the tips, so I've been looking at this kit http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/FOX-Ultimate-suspension-for-05-Tacoma_p_1226.html# what do you think about it? I also want to mentioned that I have a leer campershell. The kit mentions something about using the stock overload for 2" lift for extra loads. Sorry, but what exactly is the stock overload? I have a lot to learn about my truck and lifts.

I just realized I still need to buy wheels and tires. Im thinking I'll ride stock until I need new tires. That should help me save some extra cash since I'll be broke if I buy that kit, then i'll go ahead and buy tires and wheels. I'm thinking stealth custom series for wheels. Not sure what kinda tire
