I was thinking of picking up a second Tacoma then I said screw it and got my m2 competition. Partly because of inflated Tacoma prices .

Just saw a 2017 M2 on the lot at the Toyota dealer this week. The day BMW stops offering their M cars with manuals will be sad indeed. Good looking car.

I’ve always purchased my sports cars in a manual but they’re new dual clutch M transmission is faster and has the ability to shift with paddles or the shifter . I traded in my tuned golf R ( manual) for it and I’m very impressed.

I think this is the best possible time to sell a tacoma. I guess because of COVID supplies issues (??) and the limited current alternative options , compounded with rising popularity for these gen3s the prices are insane. My 2018 sr5 4x4 double cab was 33k brand new back in 2018 and I think now 2018s are selling for that used! If my roof paint wasn't so messed up I could probably get that exact price.
I don't blame people for paying that tho. Gen3s looks so beautiful. You can point out all the quality issues (which I know all about lol) and lack of this and that vs other trucks and I don't think it would matter. The competition all just look so sad or borgin.
Maybe the ranger does have better features, drivers better, and they roll out of the factory with zero QC issues...but it doesn't matter. It looks like a transit van was crossed with a door wedge (seriously why is the tailgate like 30 feet tall).

Till them 40k electric trucks come out, I guess taco is still king.

When choosing a car, I also opt for the slowest option available. I guess it's not so bad for a truck. But imagine the state of mind you would have to be in to buy something like a hellcat or a M3 , and willfully select the slowest option possible. It's like I want a fast car...but not too fast.

I’ve always owned manuals except trucks and my 64 and 70 Cadillac coupe de ville . I’m glad I tried this dual clutch m2 though there is no way I could shift as fast as this thing.

I bought my 2019 Ford Raptor in Dec 2019 for less then that......just under $55k to be exact......drove the sh*t out of it for a year and just sold it with just under 10,000 miles for $51K......used it for work and I get to depreciate it like crazy for this year....(According to my CPA)....now I'm back into a 2012 TRD Sport 2wd.......the Raptor was fun but not practical for me....

    A bargain!
A while back I saw an LR Manual PRO listed in LA for MSRP. I went to see it before opening time... As it turns out; the listing did not mention a 'small' additional mark-up... the asking price was actually $66.6K. I left.

I called later and yes, they were, in fact, expecting to collect that additional markup.

And in LA - they likely did...

I bought my TRD off road in April right during the start of the pandemic getting bad. Dealerships were starting to panic because they had no idea what was going to happen. I got mine new for 33k like 6 grand under sticker. Was kinda shocked how good of a deal I got. Plus I was living in New Hampshire at the time so no sales tax too.
