I have the mx4 bakflip and can say it’s a great all around product. You still retain your cleats. Although you do relocate your rails it’s easily reversible and sounds worse then what it is. It’s reasonably dry but I did have to put some permatex silicone on the 2 front areas since there were really tiny gaps. It now is pretty darn watertight.

Yeah, I’m in the same boat and there just seem to be many, many tonneau options out there. The more I look, the more confused I get. I’m sure that I’d be happy with anything that I get, but I think I narrowed it down to the Extang Encore ($919) or the Fold-a-Cover G4 Elite ($795). I like the ability to access the bed from either end which helps limit my choices. I’d be interested to see if you have made a decision or made a purchase yet.

Thanks for the update and the suggestion to check with Kyle or the other autoanything thread before making the purchase.

They both seem like nice covers. As you mentioned, there does seem to be a ton of hardware for the G4 cover....which means the more likely something will come loose. I believe I read that the G4 does only require the removal of 4 bolts to remove it entirely.

I’d be anxious to hear your initial thoughts on the encore once you get it installed and if anyone else has any opinions on with of these covers.

    Thanks!
