    Yeah, and thats where it is now. Just brainstorming a way to still have it accessible once a bedrack is installed, while trying to keep the CG low(ish). And a flip-down tire carrier on that space seems like a unique idea.
    Might be able to do it anyways with the bed as it is. Make the 12-14" of the bed separate and still have the flip down tire. Ah brainstorms.

    Before you begin. What is the width of your spare tire? Would the spare fit in the 12"+/- gap? Don't forget the extra space needed for hardware and such.

    It would be doable and has precedence in other types of vehicles. IMO it would be fugly using the OEM bed. Have you thought about a custom bed?

    No sir, this is at wildcat off-road park in London KY. There is some pretty country here in KY
