5k miles in and disappointed... :( 2016 V6 AT SR5

Some background.

I had manual transmission 97 Tacoma, Probably enough said... Toyota bought it back in 2008 for the rusting frame problem. I bought a 5 speed 2008 Yaris because gas was ove $4 a gallon.

The Yaris was more fun to drive then this truck.

LSD should be fun right? I hate that noise and you can't get used to it. I'd rather the rear break loose, I know how to drive!

ABS, hate it, I know how to drive.

It's too freaking big! Might as well have gotten a Tundra.

The crazy cold weather we had in Mass a few days ago made the transmission slip. Hasn't happened since it warmed up but could be a real problem.

So bummed...

Can anyone cheer me up?

 

A TRD Off Road in the Manual transmission would have cheered you up. Don't understand why you bought an automatic.

 

Just because I test drove one and thought I liked it. MT wasn't available. Never owned an AT. F me!

 

Should've got a manual....but you CAN disable the LSD by holding the button down for a few seconds

 

Sell it. You should be ableto get most of your investment back

 

It behooves me, fitting descript for those who spend a decent amount for a new truck and are disappointed by it not driving like a tits up in the day Mustang....

maybe should have gotten one of these, manual transmission, slide the rear out all day long, transmission wont slip unless you jump the chain drive (but easy to fix) and no abs.

I too like to complain about things that I could have avoided if I did my homework.

 

Agreed. My favorite part though is when he mentions the size. Complains that it's too big. Did you not notice the size when you test drove and paid for it?

 

Nobody told me it would be "bigger" after a lift and tires though!

 

I live in MA also and haven't yet had any issues with the transmission in cold weather.

Now for more fun..........some trucks are showing up without a full dose of ATF in them and you need to go have dealer check it out before you get blamed for burning it up. There are threads here about it with more detail about them coming a quart or more low. One of the symptoms was slipping. Check it out or just trade it in if the truck is that irritating I guess.

 

Nah...sell it and buy you another Yugo...I mean Yaris.
