So, I just brought my '15 in for the 5k service (2 years free scheduled maintenance). They didn't rotate the tires, even though it says they did on the slip (I marked them). Should I be pissed, or is this common practice? I wish I marked the oil filter too.

They always rotate mine at my dealer.
I kinda felt that checklist thing they give you is a joke.

I would take it back and ask for them to be rotated.

They should have rotated the tires and just look at the oil filter part number cause it comes from the factory with a different one.

Bet they didn't grease the U-joints either. The dealer never grease the u-joints where I take mine

Yeah, I'm a little annoyed. They basically have 2 things to do at 5k, change the oil and rotate the tires. They failed at 50% of that

Common practice where I'm from. Happened the three times I took it to them for an oil change, and probably every time my brother took in his FJ. Not to mention it was 2 different dealers.. I was annoyed too, but only because I'm an hour away. I would just take it back and make them rotate them. They did it on the spot, no appointment needed when I brought it in.

After experiencing the "ToyotaCare" maintenance program...I'd rather have them knock $1000 off the price of the truck and let me do my own maintenance from day 1. Out of 3 visits, only 1 was what I would consider "helpful".

YUP. Op just do the work yourself... it will save you time and frustration. The first and last time i took my truck in for oil n tire rotation, I literally watched them drain the oil, change the filter, then go to start my truck to move it off the lift (i was standing right next to it talking to the head service mechanic about a TSB of which he had no idea what to do). I yelled "HEY STOP" at the oil change boy rather loudly (to the point that the ENTIRE service bay stopped and looked over) and went "YOU GOING TO PUT SOME FUCKING OIL IN MY TRUCK BEFORE YOU START IT!".... needless to say ill never be back to a dealership for them to do general maintenance.

Yeah, for the most part they're ok, but no doubt there are horror stories. Ive done my own oil changes/tires after the first 5k toyota care. I just feel better about it.

My truck is never going to go to the dealer for anything regarding regular maintenance, and it'll need to be the end of the world for anything else. I have read enough bad stories here, and given the fact that it apparently takes every dealer an hour and a half to do an oil change and rotate the tires, I'll just go to a shop that I like with quality oil.

I'd call them out on it. Toyota is paying them for this crap. One of the local dealers around here pulled something similar on me. I had marked my oil filter and after I went in for my 15K service I checked and saw the same filter in place. Tires had a scuff on one so I know they rotated them. Turns out they hadn't even changed my oil. I was beyond pissed. Went back a couple of days later and told the guy I was going to stand next to my truck in the service bay and watch them do the change. Left a nice review of this on yelp too and got some lame response saying they were "sorry" this happened. I bet they're just sorry they got caught. The last dealer I went to had a nice setup in their waiting room so you can see what is happening in the express service department. I watched them like a hawk the last two times I went in for this service.

YEAH... there is a reason why i brought my torque wrench and went over every single nut and bolt after i had my tire rotation done the one time they did it.... also after they replaced my rear leaf springs for the driveline vibe tsb. I got some NASTY looks from the service guys as i laid under my truck torquing everything down. They even asked why. my response was "i dont trust you guys as far as i could throw this truck"

They rotated mine on the first free one and aired them down to 30lbs. Door sticker for load range D BFGs clearly says 46. If all 4 tires had 46 in them would you not stop and think that maybe on this truck something is different? Pissed me off when I got home and had to get the compressor out and air up all 4. I had 3 separate instances of just stupid stuff. When I wrote the dealer up on the survey the service manager called me a asked for another chance. Of course I said NO.

Sounds like you need to double check their work. Last tire rotation I had completed by the dealer, I drove home with 2/6 lug nuts.

With Toyota's reliability record, I only trust dealers to service my vehicle. I find it hard to believe that factory trained monkeys are messing your vehicles. Stop being so dramatic fellas. We all know that Toyota built these vehicles to be rock solid and will survive anything short of a nuclear blast.

    Too few to list.
Took our 5th gen 4Runner for an oil change and they didn't quite get the oil canister tightened so it was seeping oil to the point that the whole truck's underneath was coated from being driven around. Checked the oil level an it was just a little low. For those who don't know, the oil canister in the 5th gen 4runners are now underneath behind a skid. Took it back to the dealer and told that to check the canister and their response was "it was just residual oil from the oil change" which I then reply, residual from about half a quart of oil enough to coat the underneath from the front to back? They powerwashed underneath and gave me my money back.
