Btw, km2's are probably one of the scariest tires I've ever rode on in the street. It was barely drizzling outside and it felt like we were on ice. Slid through 2 stop signs before turning around and going back home to get a different vehicle to drive.

Sure you weren't driving on ice? I never had that problem with mine.

 

It was august in Alabama, probably about 90 degrees out. So no, no ice.

 

My local Firestone is managed by a woman that rocks. She DD's a FJ Cruiser and has a 1st gen 4Runner trail rig sitting on 40's.

 

Definitely on ice.

This has already happened to me a few times now but that's what happens when this thread is AVERAGING OVER 3 PAGES OF RANDOM BS A DAY!

Tried, semi-successfully, moving my BS to my build thread. Cleaned it up some.

I had KM2s and a locked rear end on the truck I just totaled in the ice… They are awful in any kind of slick condition! Especially if locked

 

We gotcha now man. Bring some of that east coast love with you.

 

Since you're coming from VA, I assume you'll be on 64 through eastern Kentucky. When are you coming through?

I agree. Terrible in ice. Awesome in mud and rocks though and a 60k tire on the street. My truck drives great on the street and does fine in rain. I drive to all offroad parks and they do fantastic at everything I need.

 

The one little snow we had was the week after I got the locker installed. Learned real quick that locker + km2s = drive very very conservatively and carefully. Ha ha.

 

I've never owned a set of none mud tires so that's the only way I know. Haha you're gonna love that locker come March 16th though.

 

I'm excited to use the locker in lbl.

 

I've ran about every type of tire there is at one point or another. It really is amazing how differently they perform.

I had Michelin ltx ms2 once. What an amazing tire on the road. Silent on the asphalt and awesome in shitty weather. Ran that tire for upwards of 70k until I sold the truck. Immediately turned to racing slicks at the sight of mud though. Ha ha.

 

I lived in upstate NY, where snow falls by the feet and never had a problem with KM2s. But no tire is great on ice unless it has studs on it IMO.
