5th Gen 4Runner Grill How-to

I should have four of the Raptor sets available as well as a few other mesh styles.

Don't ask for dibs - when they go for sale is when they become available.

 

Hahaha! I really hope to use it more than once. I was already chopping up some cardboard.

Small update to the OP this evening.
Also here is a sample of a basic M1 mesh kit for the T4R that I was messing with - I have two of these in the powder coat batch as well.

Thanks guys - there is still a challenge getting the M1 to curve properly but it is not nearly as difficult as the MX raptor set.

I just realized I don't have enough boxes on hand - I'll order more tomorrow.
As of now I've got 12 in the shop and 9 are spoken for with the Tacoma Raptor batch.

These will ship with the letters prepped for install. and will include 5 stainless steel #8 1/2" screws like so:



With placement of the lettering on the Tacoma there is really no room for differences, however with these you can really mess with the placement however you want to so I've decided to ship them separate. The 3M adhesive is already applied to the back & they are ready to go.

Is the top part secured by putting the outer surround back on?

 

Yes - that's the MAIN reason I needed a grill on-hand to make these work.
the mesh has to be just right for the kit to work as intended.
The mesh is secured with 5 screws on the bottom lip and "sandwiched" in between the two parts of the grill.
It gives it a very clean look and once the surround is cut as per the OP instructions the actual assembly is surprisingly quick & easy IMO.

 

Now you'll have to come up with something for the 2014-15 4runners....they're all sorts of different. :/
