5th Gen storage w/o 3rd row?

I was kicking the tires of a few '16 4Runners tonight and was curious if the lack of a 3rd row leaves space under the back for storage? I didn't see any doors/flaps to open, so was curious what the hell happens to all that space w/o the optional seats.

What am I missing?

 

No, there is nothing under the deck. It's a minor aggravation, certainly not a deal breaker. If you gotta have it lots of guys on T4R have built very simple platforms with either a top door or drawers facing forward to accommodate stuff.

Without the 3rd row seats the floor of the cargo area sits an easy 5+ inches lower so you have a lot of room to work with.

I personally just moved all the shit I used to keep under the cargo are in my Xterra into a Rubbermaid tote.

 

Thanks...I checked a few others out tonight and noticed the raised deck in 4R's with the seats installed. Strange design...

 

Yup, I'm a single cat with kids NOT in the house but a massive dog & a medium dog. The folding 3rd row seats raised floor caused one pooches head to contact the roof so it was out...
