So that plate affixed to the top of the throttle body with screws has a thin little gasket. Took the plate off while I was cleaning the TB to get at the little holes. Gasket broke in half. What's the gasket called? Part number? Where can I buy a new one? I have the 2003 Tacoma FSM but its diagram of the TB doesn't show the plate. What's that little space for anyways? It has hoses going into it, and three or so pinholes that go into the airway of the TB.

what engine are you working on?

I ask because my throttle body looks nothing like that is that the year you need to buy the complete throttle body as no parts can be bought ?

I am guessing your local dealer or online Toyota parts dealer .

    Make the gasket yourself .

the response i got from toyota is that they do not sell the replacement gasket for the top plate. i have not yet found anyone else that sells it for the 5vz either.

i had the same problem happen to me while cleaning throttle body this weekend, and i used superglue to put it back together for the time being.

Access plates are so easy.....just give around the bolts holes plenty of extra material......
.....nobody will ever see the inside......make sure you dont go back....

I would buy oil and gas resistant paper......and that is tough to cut.....and sort of crispy.....
and use a non-drying gasket prep.........
