The real question, is the 2GR quieter using 5W-30?

I haven’t run 5w-30, but mine is quieter on 10W-40 than 0W-20 and 10W-30. No incessant lifter tapping/collapsing so far on 10W-40.

None detected. I’ve only been on it a few thousand miles, I was on 10W-30 from 7K to 65K. At 68K now. Ironically I’m getting better mileage now than I have in a long time, but it isn’t the thicker oil doing that.

Never noticed it any quieter on the two that I had using 5w30. Most of the noise is from the injectors and high pressure fuel pump.
