I couldnt agree more with what everyone else has already said. Pitbulls have a bad rep because of PEOPLE! Owners who train them to be mean and attack and fight should not be allowed to own dogs. A well trained pit is no worse than any other breed. Some of the nicest sweetest dogs I have ever known were pits. Yes they have been known to attack and kill people, but I strongly believe it has EVERYTHING to do with the owners. Dogs will do whatever you train them to do...which is why they are mans best friend.

For the guy who posted negatively about them, you should definitely do some research and you will see that pitbulls are not the problem...the OWNERS are!!

DONT HATE THE BREED JUST BECAUSE THE OWNERS ARE WORTHLESS F**KS WHO TRAIN THEM TO BE MEAN AND AGGRESIVE! THEY ARE THE PROBLEM, NOT THE DOGS!

i dont just have pits, i have 2 rat terriers, 2 hounds, a whippitt, a half blind great dane, a 13 year old mutt, and a dashund. and my pits would give their lifes to protect me, my family and the rest of my dogs. everybody can say whatever they want but until i have a bad personal experience with a pit that has been raised right then i will continue to own my pits until the day i die.

The bad one, attack on the couch, had papers (beautiful big pit actually). Not sure about the rest, probably not purebred.

I don't want to hate pits but hey, 5 times bitten, 5 times shy. Not to say that I dont have 2 holes in my right hand from a husky and had a black-lab bite/fracture a bone in my foot ( I'm around alot of dogs...) but those were more owner fault and freak accident; the pits just don't have that rev-limiter reflex: when it's on it is FULL on.

Ha! Yeah, when I started thinking about it you're probably right. I got 3 laying at me feet right now... probably plotting on how to leave their mark on me.

Not a fan of cats, couple stories about those critters too.

Don't forget that the Terrier was bred to hunt & kill rats. Why a Terrier ? Because of the speed, strength & the aggressive voracious behavior they exhibited, not saying its bad, just saying that those who don't recognize that their breed of choice is aggressive by design & genetics & stand by the statement of " My Pit has never bitten or been aggressive to anyone" That maybe true, but the blanket statement & belief that "their" Pit is different is just as ignorant as the jerk off that thinks its "cool" to make theirs as aggressive & unruly as possible....

Because of stuff like that Pit bulls are illegal here in Miami, Fl. I believe we are the only county in Florida who has this law.

i agree, im not implying in any way that my pits cant be mean and tear something up, but with the training and excercise they get they are very peaceful animals.
